Core Network Planning Engineer – Safaricom Jobs in Kenya

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Core Network Planning and Support Department within the Technical Division.

In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

Core Network Planning Engineer
Ref: TECHNICAL_CNPE_SEPTEMBER 2010

Reporting to the Principle Engineer; Core Network Planning, the holder of the position will provide long term core network planning and forecasting solutions, interface with the supplier of the core network equipment on system upgrades, analyze and advice on impacts of introducing new services on Core Network Performance.

Key Responsibilities

·         Responsible for the collection/analysis/maintenance of the CNP input data, e.g. traffic models, routing schemes and interconnection plans;

·         Responsible for weekly reporting on KPI and prepare a Design KPI Report;

·         Main interface for WO issuance toward O&M;

·         Analyze and advice on requirements and impact of introducing new services and technologies;

·         Plan and dimension new inter-node and routes;

·         Optimize existing Core Network routing and traffic loads;

Minimum requirements

·         University degree in Electrical & Electronics engineering;

·         5 years working experience in Telecommunications with at least 2 years experience in GSM NSS environment; Analytical & problem solving skills when handling faults;

·         Must be able to work without supervision and meet tight deadlines/schedules;

·         Analytical , problem solving skills;

·         Proactive & self motivated;
