We are looking for individuals, who are organized, highly motivated and results oriented to join a dynamic team and help bring better health for Africa for the KiberaART Project which is funded by Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
The Project focuses on the provision of integrated HIV/AIDS services which include adult and pediatric care and treatment, PMTCT, PITCT; TB testing and treatment; prevention with positives; community mobilization and capacity building with close collaboration with local and external partners.
Project Manager

The position reports to the HIV/AIDS Program Manager and is based in Nairobi.
Purpose of the Job
  • To provide managerial guidance and technical leadership in the implementation and expansion of integrated HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services in the health facilities and among communities targeted by the project.
  • Strengthen the capacity of the health facilities and community structures in the delivery of integrated HIV/AIDS services.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and project management through co-ordination and supervision of the implementation of project activities.
  • Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate project activities including writing technical reports for donors as well as for internal purposes.
  • Facilitate capacity building activities for the project implementation team, community structures, DHMT and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct operations research, document and share results for advocacy in order to influence relevant policies and practices.
  • Work with program staff to document and disseminate best practices and lessons learnt.
  • Manage project resources including staff, finances and assets.
  • Develop and promote partnerships and networking with relevant stakeholders including but not limited to local authorities, relevant Government of Kenya Ministries and NGOs.
  • Ensure project integration and growth by participating in country office and program meetings.
  • Participate in the development of new concepts and proposals for fundraising.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • The ideal candidate should have a Masters Degree in Public Health with above 5 years hands on experience in project management related to HIV/AIDS with an emphasis on ART management; a first degree in Medicine will be an added advantage.
  • He/she should have experience in project management, capacity building, networking, operations research, documentation, monitoring and evaluation, budget management and people management skills.
  • In addition the ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator, team player and computer literate.
Medical Officer

The position reports to the Project Manager and is based in Nairobi.
Purpose of the Job
  • To provide technical support in the implementation and expansion of integrated HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment services in health facilities and among communities targeted by the Project; strengthen the capacity of the health facilities and community structures in the delivery of integrated HIV/AIDS services.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise provision of PITC, adult and pediatric HIV treatment, care and support, integrated TB / HIV services, and PMTCT services in health facilities and among communities targeted by the project.
  • Provide technical support to ART sites supported by AMREF.
  • Facilitate training of service providers in .PITC, adult and pediatric HIV treatment, care and support, TB / HIV integration, and PMTCT services.
  • Oversee efficient running of curative and preventive medical services at Kibera Health Centre and other satellite clinics.
  • Assist in supervision of clinical staff to ensure quality health care delivery.
  • Ensure efficient procurement for medical supplies for the health centre, particularly drugs.
  • Under supervision and guidance of the Project Manager, implement MoH polices at targeted health facilities with an emphasis on ART and TB programs.
  • Ensure health procedures follow national guidelines and protocols developed by AMREF, including those for quality assurance.
  • Provide hands on patient management as necessary.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports relating to curative and preventive clinical activities; assist in preparation of annual proposal and progress reports as per donor requirements.
  • Provide technical support in development and writing of concepts and proposals, for research and documentation activities.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • The candidate should have a first degree in Medicine & Surgery; a Masters in Public Health will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support services in a busy clinical environment; experience in working with a large NGO will be an added advantage.
  • Must be ICT proficient.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to prioritize duties and work under minimal supervision.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer

Basic Function:
  • Develop and implement an effective monitoring and evaluation plan for the Project.
  • The M&E Officer will compile periodic Project reports and ensure monitoring tools are developed and updated regularly.
  • The incumbent will conduct training and support Project staff on M&E and identify priority areas of concern on the quality of M&E related data and inform the Project implementation team for action.
  • Regular documentation of processes, challenges and lessons learned will be vital function for this position.
  • The position reports to the Project Manager and is based in Nairobi.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Participate in strengthening existing M&E systems at the project, program and AMREF Kenya Country Office levels.
  • Take lead in data capturing and reporting using monitoring tools to track project indicators.
  • Provide technical input in the review of reports and participate in field assessments.
  • Take lead in program surveys and organizing and facilitating quarterly, semi-annual and annual project review meetings with program staff and partners and giving feedback on M&E activities.
  • Support project implementation team to document and disseminate lessons learnt and best practices.
  • Ensure program integration and growth by participating in meetings and conferences.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • The candidate should have a Degree in Social Science in Public Health or any other relevant Social Science discipline, with professional training in M&E. A post graduate qualification is desirable.
  • 3 years relevant working experience in M&E – reporting to PEPFAR using KeMPS on PMTCT and ART.
  • Experience in a busy health NGO will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent computer skills including SPSS, STATA and Epi info.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral and be a team player.
