In Tanzania, TechnoServe is working with in various agricultural value chains including coffee, tea, cotton, cocoa and horticulture.
We are looking for dynamic and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Managers to support the expansion of our cotton program in the Lake Zone and our horticulture program in the Southern Highlands
Duty stations: Mwanza (cotton) and Iringa or Mbeya (horticulture)
Monitoring and Evaluation Manager
Responsibilities:

  • Provide intellectual leadership and overall management of the Monitoring and Evaluation of the program
  • Design and implement M&E methodology for the program, including preparation and implementation of tools, systems and processes for timely and accurate collection, management, analysis and reporting of reliable data that meets donor and TechnoServe requirements
  • Develop and deliver effective training of program staff in the use of the methodology
  • Prepare accurate and thorough weekly, quarterly and annual reports for various internal and external stakeholders
  • Keep informed on evolving best practices in M&E and communicate those to the program team
Qualifications:
  • Applying candidates should possess the following requirements: Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, business or economics required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in M&E, especially designing and implementing M&E systems, on international donor-funded programs required; experience in USAID reporting preferred.
  • Knowledge of M&E best practices required
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, MS Access and PowerPoint required;
  • working knowledge of statistical packages such as SPSS preferred.
  • Excellent leadership skills with ability and willingness to effectively train, coach and mentor colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/oversee evaluations, reviews, assessments and data audits to ensure proper use of the systems and compliance with internal and external standards of performance
  • Experience in the evaluation of development projects using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili
  • Ability to develop well written, cohesive reports that are responsive to the donors’ needs
  • A valid driving license required
Reports to: Country Director/Chief of Party Remuneration
