Safaricom Learning & Development Officer Job Vacancy

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy within the Human Resources Division. 

In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

Learning & Development Officer
HR – L&DO – Aug 2010

Reporting to the Principal Learning & Development Officer , the successful candidate will be involved in researching and designing of training programs, developing E-learning content for blended learning , facilitation and evaluation of learning & development programs / initiatives,

Key Responsibilities:
  • Source, develop and implement E-learning programs and content for all relevant Product and Services training to be hosted in Human Resources Learning Management System;
  • Manage the Oracle Learning Management (OLM) System to ensure timely and optimal utilization by learners across the company.

  • Manage E-learning projects and automation of Learning and Development processes.
  • Manage policies, procedures and processes implementation for Learning and Development.
  • Deliver learning and development initiatives using blended learning systems and methodologies for employees across the company
  • Develop, design and facilitate all new systems related trainings and other need based interventions for all end user within the Company;
  • Validate learning and development needs based on individual staff Performance and Development Review (PDR), changes in the Business, Technology and Succession Planning;
  • Carry out end of training evaluation to asses whether objectives set before were addressed and how the training was delivered;
  • Carrying out post training evaluation to evaluate the impact on the actual work performance of the participants trained;
  • Monitoring and tracking spend on programs assigned;
  • Monitoring, analyzing and reporting on Learning & Development initiatives on a Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly/Annual basis and within SLA.
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies:
  • Degree in IT/Technology or Human Resources Management from a recognized university with additional Telecommunication Training experience/certification;
  • Higher Diploma in Human Resources Management;
  • 4 years post-graduation experience with 2 years demonstrated experience in training facilitation;
  • Experience in general and e-learning content development and delivery in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in administration of Learning management Systems (LMS’s)
  • Certified in designing and facilitating training with advanced presentation skills;
  • Ability to execute learning process from analyzing individual or group training needs, defining development plans and delivery;
  • Ability to manipulate data to generate training reports weekly, monthly, quarterly & annually;
  • Good communication, interpersonal and time management skills;
  • Proactive, confident, energetic and ability to work under pressure;
  • A team player with a pleasant outgoing personality with empathy and resilience.
