SACCO Manager and Accountant Job in Nairobi Kenya

A leading SACCO in Nairobi invites applications from suitable candidates to fill the following vacant positions.
1. Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Finance and Administrative Manager will be responsible to the Board of Directors for the general Administrative, Finance and Procurement Services in the SACCO.
  • To record the minutes of the Board of Directors and Annual General Meetings.
  • Responsible for the preparation of financial statements, periodical management reports and analysis of actual financial performance against plans.
  • Generally, manage and cause to be managed the affairs of the SACCO as may be directed by the Board of Directors.

  • Ensure adherence to the Strategic Plan and realization of the Performance Contract targets.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor of Commerce/Business Administration Degree from a recognized University.
  • Age 30 - 45 years
  • CPA(K)
  • Proficiency in accounting computer packages.
  • Must have work experience in cooperative management for at least five years.
  • Diploma in Cooperative Management will be an added advantage.
2. Accountant

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager and will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Ensuring compliance with existing accounting policies formulated by Board of Directors and in line with the International Accounting Standards.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate recording of all transactions.
  • Preparing daily, weekly, monthly and final accounts and reports.
  • Supervising all accounting staff with additional responsibilities for deputizing for the Manager and reporting to the management committee on finance matters.
Qualifications and Skills
  • CPA II or its equivalent.
  • Diploma in Cooperative Management
  • At least three years of experience in a busy accounting office.
  • Proficiency in accounting computer packages.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with track record of ability to meet strict reporting deadlines
  • Age 25 - 35 years.
