Linksoft Group of Companies Chief Finance Officer (CFO) Job Opportunity in Kenya

The Linksoft Group of Companies is a fast growing Pan African Telecommunications Service Provider that possess geographically diverse ventures which are profitably operational across several countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, and Rwanda.

The company currently employs more than 400 personnel continent wide, and has rapid expansion strategies in place to enter other lucrative markets such as Ethiopia, Niger, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The company’s modern and advanced portfolio of turnkey telecommunication network infrastructure solutions has placed it as one of Africa’s leading brand in the Telecommunications Industry, specifically from three fronts - Telecoms Maintenance, Site Building Maintenance and a state of the art Centre of Excellence Training Facility. Other services offered include supply of equipment, installation and testing, commissioning and maintenance of key network infrastructure.

To cater for the anticipated growth projections, the company is seeking to appoint a 
Chief Finance Officer (CFO) who will partner with an experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in all areas of business, strategy and financial management.

The Chief Finance Officer(”CFO”)
The position will be responsible for overseeing the Group’s financial planning, support services and risk management functions. The job holder will also act as the Chief Financial “Architect” leading the design of the company’s financial pathway and providing end to end oversight of the Group’s Shared Services Centre from initial set up to operational.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this senior position calls for a high level of maturity and ability to interact effectively at Board Level as well as act as a key advisor to the Group CEO and the operating company leaders on financial aspects both at strategic and operational levels.

Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Corporate Strategy
  • Taking the lead role in coordinating and development of a value maximizing overall group strategy as well as operating unit strategies.
Financial Strategy
  • Developing, recommending and executing an overall financial strategy for the organisation that supports its business strategy and plays a pivotal role in achieving the company’s objectives.
Budgeting and management controls
  • Designing and carrying out processes to ensure that the organisation’s companies and their managers have the right information to set goals, make decisions and monitor performance.
Financial management
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient management of the Group’s financial operations.
Critical skills/requirements for the job:

The CFO should bring a broad business perspective and should possess the following characteristics:
  • Seasoned business judgement and superior analytical abilities, particularly in strategic business and financial analysis
  • Ability to take an independent stance and to challenge the ideas of the Group CEO and operating company CEOs (as such independence and debate leads to better quality decisions)
  • Strong executing capability to translate group initiatives from strategy to reality.
  • Presence to deal with the financial community
  • Ability to negotiate major transactions
  • Excellent financial modeling skills
  • Strong administrative and people management skills
  • Strong familiarity with financial markets, financial and reporting accounting, treasury operations and taxation
The successful candidate will have:
  • A Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • An MBA degree from a leading international business school is highly desired.
  • At least 10 years work experience in a business environment out of which 5 years are to be in the telecommunication industry.
  • A minimum of 5 years senior financial management experience with treasury, financial reporting and control, capital-raising, and financial planning responsibilities.
  • Professional accounting certification CPA (K) or ACCA
  • Prior work experience in a multicultural environment is desired.
