Legal Officer Job Vacancy in Kenya

Our client is a blue chip organisation quoted at the Nairobi Stock Exchange.
The client would like to recruit a suitable candidate for the position of Legal Officer, reporting to the Legal Manager.
Education:
  • LL.B Degree in Law from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in legal work in a busy law firm or a large corporate organization.
Key Competences:
  • Ability to carry out legal research, drafting and writing legal reports, commercial contracts and agreements.

  • Ability to handle court assignments in the Lower and High Court involving legal process and procedures on civil and criminal matters.
  • Ability to carry out general conveyances in corporate property matters.
  • Good dissemination and presentation skills on diverse legal issues.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist and co-ordinate in legal research on litigation matters for a busy corporation.
  • Undertake conveyance pertaining to the corporate properties, either subleased or owned.
  • Carry out legal research, investigations and ad hoc assignments for management.
  • Report and present legal research and investigation findings to the management as delegated, discuss and agree on management action and assist in subsequent implementation.
  • Ensure full compliance with Law, legislative issues, policies and procedures as stipulated by the statutes.
  • Ensure the company is abreast with any New Legislative effect(s).
  • Ensure compliance to Laws, By-Laws and legislative requirements in all corporate matters.
  • Prepare and compute legal data.
