Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited Chief Financial Officer Job in Mombasa Kenya

The Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited is a private limited company whose main business is to convert crude oil into various petroleum products supplied to the country and region.

In an effort to restructure and strengthen its management team to meet its future growth needs, KPRL has an opening for a 
Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

The successful candidate is joining the company at a time when there are substantial investments planned to improve operating efficiencies, increase throughput and produce clean products at its Mombasa plant.

The Job

The CFO will oversee all finance, accounting, secretarial & legal aspects of the company.
He/she will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and provide support on all strategic and tactical matters as they may relate to budget management, treasury, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and the securing of new funding for working capital and projects.

In addition, he/she will be required to lead, strategize, manage the finance function of the KPRL Businesses viz, acquisition & utilization of funds, securitization, compliance to all lenders, Financial Regulatory Authorities/guidelines of the country & other statutory requirements related to fund raising, adherence to commercial laws, company laws, system improvement through ERP’s, provide commercial support to operations with the objective of maintaining & ensuring financial discipline, optimization of profitability & smooth implementation of projects within the overall KPRL financial policies and the laws of the land.

Desired Candidate Profile
  • CPA, CA or CFA certified applicants with at least 15 years post qualification experience in the finance function including at least a minimum of 3 years as the finance head of a large manufacturing and/or distribution company.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas Industry, knowledge of Oil Accounting, experience in managing end to end financial transactions, working capital funding, treasury management and International financial institution relationship is essential.
Education and Experience
  • Completion of a university degree.
  • Completion of a Master’s degree in Finance, Commerce or Business Administration
  • Be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) qualified.
  • Minimum of 15 years relevant post qualification experience in the finance function, 3 years of which would be as Finance head of a large Manufacturing or Distribution Company.
  • Experience in product accounting, treasury management, working capital management, investment appraisal and project finance.
  • Experience in working in an ERP environment will be a definite advantage.
