Hawkins Associates Procurement Manager Job Advert to work in the Seychelles

This position is available with our client, the Seychelles Trading Company, the leading importer and supplier of foods and fast moving consumer goods in the Seychelles.

The successful candidate's primary responsibility is to source for products, negotiate prices, place orders and ensure that the company has optimum supplies of all products to satisfy the needs of the market.

Key duties of the position include:-
  • Timely and cost effective sourcing and importation of all products;
  • Providing effective leadership, training and management of the imports staff;
  • Ensuring that stocks are monitored continuously and early action taken to avoid stock outs;
  • Keeping ail departments informed of the status of all import orders;
  • Maintaining an up to date database of all suppliers;
  • Ensuring that claims are raised and followed up with suppliers; » Searching for alternative suppliers.
Qualifications & other requirements:

  • Hold at least a Bachelor's degree in a business related field from a recognized University
  • Preference will be given to applicants who also hold an MBA.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years experience in international trade or procurement of fast moving consumer goods;
  • Hold a postgraduate qualification in purchasing & supply management e.g. CIPS
  • Possess excellent planning and negotiation skills
  • Be an effective trainer and developer of staff
  • A person of high integrity;
The successful candidate will be employed on a 2 year renewable contract; benefits include free furnished accommodation, medical care, return air ticket and an end of contract gratuity.
