Job Title:Assistant Retail Manager (FMCG)

Reporting to the Retail Manager, the job holder will be responsible for Foods and Beverage section operations, the workers involved and all resources entailed.

The job holder must maintain Working relationship with:
  • Fellow Managers and supervisors responsible for other sections within the department
  • Work together with external departmental heads in finance, warehouse, I.T and Administration.
Key Performance Areas:
  • Develop and maintain business relationship with clients, handle queries from them and report any significant/persistent concerns to the management
  • Identify product lines, profile market and customer details.

  • Identity customers needs and negotiate with them on how best to serve them.
  • Make regular follow ups for updates and maintenance of good customer relations
  • Receive and record complains/concerns raised by clients and liaise with the management to ensure that these are investigated and necessary internal action taken
  • Customer satisfaction in terms of volumes, quality and consistency of the products they require.
  • Handling face-to-face enquiries from customers Key tasks
  • Keeping healthy relations with customers and developing good rapport with them
  • Monitoring of product pricing and bar-coding
  • Managing the floor operations and planning daily operations for smooth operations.
  • Understanding of customer care and selling skills of perishables
  • Ensure high quality service and customer relationship management
  • Planning and organizing as per the priority, as well as stock management.
  • Any other duty that may be assigned to you from time to time.
Core skills and Competencies 
  • Degree/Diploma in Sales and Marketing/Marketing communication
  • 4 years experience in Retail sales knowledge in FMCG/supermarket products and led sale team.
  • Experience in marketing, involvement in market intelligence
  • Understanding of consumer needs, executing and developing effective marketing activities
  • Problem solving skills, business awareness and relationship building and maintenance skills.
  • Awareness of all customer requirements and standards particularly food product specifications.
  • Team player, computer literate, open and positive.
