Undugu Society of Kenya Consultancy Opportunity

Undugu Society of Kenya, a National NGO working in the Children and Youth sector is undertaking an evaluation of the following two programmes: -
(1) Children and Youth
The Children and Youth Programme implements all interventions that address the plight of street children and youth already on the streets, and its core function is rehabilitation and reintegration of street working children and youth into families/communities.
Our current approach is through the Association model of Children and Youth living and working in the streets covering Nairobi and Kisumu.
(2) Informal Skills Training
The purpose of skills development is to provide individuals with a range of core skills so that they are equipped for productive activities and employment opportunities (such as wage employment, self-employment and income generating activities).
In Kenya, the informal sector has been playing a very crucial role in this, and is now responsible for absorbing the larger proportion of new entrants into the job market. An important contribution of the informal apprenticeship system is the opportunity for large numbers of youth to obtain skills training at relatively low costs to both the learners and employer.

These marginalized groups consists of street children and youth at risk, out of school children and youth from poor informal settlements.
We seek two qualified consultancy firms to undertake these evaluations independently/separately.
Details of the requirements of these evaluations can be retrieved from Undugu Society of Kenya website www.undugukenya.org.
Interested persons should submit their proposal by 2nd August 2010 using the address : evaluations@undugukenya.org or undugu@undugukenya.org
