Uganda Clays Limited Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer Job Vacancy

Our client, Uganda Clays Limited, the leading manufacturer of clay building materials in the eastern Africa region, seeks to recruit a Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer.

The position requires a dynamic, competent and knowledgeable person with the highest degree of integrity who will be responsible for providing direction and leadership for the company on the production and marketing of its products, planning and ensuring effective utilisation of Financial and Human resources at the disposal of the organisation in order to continuously drive the business to excellence and optimal shareholder value.

Position Scope:
The Chief Executive Officer will be required to position the company strategically as a key player in production and marketing of quality and affordable clay building materials and strategically think, plan and create value through the effective utilization of the financial, material and human resources at the disposal of the company.
Key Responsibilities:

The Chief Executive Officer will have oversight of the company with direct supervision of the fiscal operations
, institutional management and employment, including the following:
  • Promoting, motivating and maintaining a productive, creative and caring atmosphere in which every employee participating in various activities can experience success.
  • Fostering an environment where staff members are challenged to reach their greatest potential.
  • Securing and compiling data to determine if the company's vision, mission, goals and outcome objectives are being met.
Qualifications and Skills:

The successful candidate will possess:
  • A graduate degree in Commerce, Business Management, Engineering, Economics or any other relevant field.
  • A post graduate business management qualification such as MBA will be a definite advantage.
  • Demonstrable ability to propel the company forward and above its current position: 850 employees with projected turnover of at least US Dollars 8.5 million for 2010.
  • A minimum of 10 years working experience in a top management position in a medium to large manufacturing or construction company, is, therefore, essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to make sound decisions.
  • Excellent computer and managerial skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship and analytical skills.
  • A clear understanding of the changing and creative environment that leads to business excellence.
  • An understanding of and commitment to total quality management performance and associated techniques.
