TANATHI Water Services Board (herein after referred to as TAWSB’) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Water and Irrigation created under Section 51 of the Water Act, 2002 vide Legal Notice No. 69 dated 4th June, 2008.
TAWSB is one of the eight water services boards created to bring about efficiency, economy and sustainability in the provision of water and sewerage services in Kenya. TAWSB has mandate of ensuring efficient and economical provision of water and sewerage services in its area of jurisdiction which includes thirty two administrative districts.
TAWSB wishes to recruit dynamic and result driven professionals to fill the following positions in its duly appointed water service provider namely Nol-Turesh Bulk Water Pipeline Company Ltd:
1. Managing Director
Job profile

  • To provide leadership in the company to achieve objectives, prosperity and sustainability.
  • Responsible for implementation/ supervision of the company’s policies and project proposals when they are funded.
  • Responsible for co-ordinating the technical, commercial and financial functions of the company for its smooth running and operations & also in the best interest of the company
  • Design a Monitoring and Evaluation system to track performance.
  • Identify the rural and urban poor areas within the company’s area of jurisdiction and prepare intervention proposals to alleviate their need for water and sanitation services
  • Uphold and safeguard the legal existence and independence of the company in the discharge of its mandate.
  • Any other duties which may be assigned from time to time by the Board of Directors.
Qualifications and Skills
  • University degree in Civil or Water Engineering, or Higher National diploma in Water Engineering from KNEC or from a recognised, institution.
  • Experience in management of water & sanitation services which include project planning, design monitoring and implementation of contracts and knowledge of Water Sector Reforms. Business management knowledge will be an added advantage.
2. Accountant
Job profile
  • Establish  financial  and  management  systems  for the  effective implementation of the Company’s goals and policies.
  • Ensure efficient revenue collection, disbursements, accounting and reporting to the Managing Director.
  • Prepare budgets and periodic financial performance reports for the Company’s consideration.
  • Ensure compliance to international accounting standards on financial reporting by the company.
  • Ensure   that  the   company  complies  with   contractual  financial obligations.
  • Ensure that the company’s procurement activities conform to relevant procedures.
  • Ensure efficient and effective facilitation and support to all activities of the company.
  • Coordinate and carry out monitoring and evaluation and feed back the results for decision making.
  • Evaluate overall financial performance, viability and suitability of the company.
  • The Managing Director may assign any other function relating to the financial management as from time to time.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A certified public accountant with bachelor’s degree in business or related fields plus at least 2 years experience in a busy working environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet strict deadlines is mandatory.
  • Exposure to computerized environment together with familiarity with financial reporting are desirable.
3. Commercial Manager
Job profile
  • Responsible for efficient revenue collection in the Company through meter reading, billing and disconnection for bill defaulters.
  • Responsible for immediate reduction of UFW.(Especially in relation to Commercial losses)
  • Responsible in increase in metering.
  • Responsible for handling consumer complaints and making sure they are resolved immediately or within 7 working days.
  • Keeping consumer/ Connection register.
  • Responsible for preparing monthly disconnection lists.
  • Any other duties which may be assigned from time to time by the Managing director.
Qualifications and Skills
  • University degree in Business management, Business commerce, Business Administration, Law, or Higher National diploma from KNEC or from a recognised institution in either of the above mention fields.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Knowledge on accounting will be an added advantage.
  • To have previously worked in a business oriented organisation
