The Rural Electrification Authority, a State Corporation within the Energy Sector seeks to fill the following positions in its Finance Division:
1. Senior Accountant, Payables
MG 8 (1 post)
Responsibilities:
  • Processing and making payments to suppliers as per approved procedures
  • Processing and making payments to contractors as per approved procedures
  • Processing and making payments to surveyors as per approved procedures
  • Reconciliation of Control accounts.
  • Reimbursement of petty cash
  • Preparing Monthly, mid – year and end year accounts schedules
  • Efficient processing of financial information
  • Maintaining accurate accounting records
  • Timely processing of payments
Qualifications:

Education: B.Com.(Accounting/Finance) or related degree
Professional:- CPA (K), or ACCA
  • Management development Program
  • Industrial relations course
  • Contract negotiating skills course
  • Supervisory kills development course
Experience: 7 years relevant to this position.

2. Senior Accountant, Treasury

Responsibilities:
  • Preparing cash-flow statements
  • Investment of surplus funds
  • Maintaining accurate books of investment of funds
  • Sourcing of investments opportunities
  • Ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts
  • Processing letters of credit and staff loans
  • Preparing daily balances on outstanding letters of credit
  • Managing bank balances as per approved procedures & limits
  • Handling banking facilities
  • Handling bank correspondences as per Authority policies and procedures
  • Ensure safe custody of accountable documents
  • Timely revenue collection
Qualifications:
Education: B.Com. (Accounting/Finance) or related degree
Professional: –
  • CPA(K) or ACCA
  • Industrial relations course

3. Accountant II, Taxation
MG 10 (1 post)
Responsibilities:
  • Computing taxes levied
  • Ensuring maintenance accurate tax records
  • Handling tax correspondences as per Authority policies and procedure and Taxation rules/guidelines
  • Ensure recovery of VAT
  • Ensuring that the Authority is tax compliant
  • Preparation of tax payments
  • File monthly & annual tax returns
  • Coordinate accounts closure process for tax accounts
  • Coordination of VAT refund audits
  • Liaison with KRA
  • General ledger tax accounting
Qualifications:
Education: B.Com. (Accounts/Finance) or related degree
Professional:
  • CPA II or ACCA II
  • Customer care course
  • Taxation courses
  • Industrial relations course

Experience: 5 years relevant to this position.

  • Preparing timely and accurate records
  • Revenue collection
Qualifications:
