Regional People and Culture Partner: Plan Jobs in Kenya

Purpose:

The role of the Regional People and Culture Partner is to provide leadership and strategic direction for the People and Culture function within the region according to Plan’s global People and Culture principles and policies and global best practices cognizant with the local environment.

Reports To: Director of People and Culture and Regional Director
Position Type: Permanent or Fixed Term Contract depending on individual’s location

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the regional People and Culture budgets and review of all country P & C budgets
  • Implementation of consistent People and Culture policy and practices that supports the diversity and inclusion policy in the areas of Resourcing, Reward and Staff Development
  • Advises and counsels managers on sound employee relations and their HR issues including PMS, disciplinary measures, restructuring and HR policy
  • Design and delivery of coaching and mentoring program for Country People and Culture Managers
  • Leadership of an active People and Culture network that delivers on agreed Regional P & C strategy by the Regional Leadership team (RLT)
  • Ensure that the Country HR Policies are consistent and aligned with Global Policy and Strategy and are legally compliant
  • Design and deliver orientation programmes and review progress
  • Embed the PMS process across the region.
  • Support the Global Talent Management process
  • Provide individual counseling
  • Ensure a process of smooth transition for families to new locations/postings is in place
  • Effective representation in the Region for Recruitment and Succession Planning
Knowledge & Experience:
  • HR graduate or equivalent
  • Demonstrable, progressive experience working in an HR generalist capacity
  • Experience of managing/leading key HR projects or processes
  • The ability to deal with and influence people at all levels whilst remaining discrete at all times
  • Ability to plan, organise and multi-task, delivering to tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong team working skills
  • Coaching and Mentoring
  • Work effectively with multiple cultures and languages
Language:
  • Speaks, reads, and writes English fluently
