National Water Conservation & Pipeline Corporation (NWCPC) was established under the State Corporations Act, Chapter 446 of the Laws of Kenya vide Legal Notice 270 of 24th June, 1988.
Following the enactment of the Water Act (2002), the Corporation’s roles changed and it assumed the following new mandate:-
  • To develop state schemes and spearhead dam construction for water supplies, flood control and other multipurpose use, land drainage and construction of dykes.
  • To carry out ground water recharge using flood water and drilling of boreholes on behalf of the Government.

  • To develop new, retain existing and expand bulk water supply to Water Services Boards and other Service Providers.
The Corporation is seeking to recruit suitable self driven, result oriented, highly motivated and qualified personnel to fill the following vacant positions on permanent and pensionable basis to be stationed in Nairobi.
1. Advert No: 21/2010 Job Title: Chief Internal Auditor
Grade: NWC 10 Positions Vacant: 1
Requirement of Appointment
  • •  Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting option /or CPA (K)
  • •  Masters Degree in Finance
  • •  Must be registered ICPAK
  • • Computer proficiency
  • • 9 years, 3 of them at a senior level
  • • Membership to HA is an added advantage
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees review and development of audit techniques and procedures.
  • Ensures comprehensive audit programmes are undertaken
  • Approves audit programmes
  • Issues audit report queries and observations to the Managing Director
  • Supervises, guides, trains and develops staff in the Unit
2. Advert No: 22/2010 Job Title: Principal Corporate Communications Officer
Grade: NWC 9 Positions Vacant: 1
Requirement of Appointment
  • Bachelors degree in Social Sciences and Diploma in Mass Communication, or Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication
  • Masters degree in Mass Communication
  • Computer Proficiency
  • 9 Years Experience in Mass Communication
  • Must be registered with PRSK
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Creates awareness to the public on NWC & PC activities.
  • Develops newsletters, flyers and other reading materials.
  • Liaises with the media on various issues.
  • Hosts the media for interviews on various issues on NWC & PC and other issues of Corporate Communications nature, protocol matters, etc.
  • Creates and maintains a good image of the organization .
  • Initiates new corporate communication strategies and procedures.
3. Advert No: 23/2010 Job Title: Senior Procurement Officer
Grade: NWC 8 Positions Vacant: 1
Requirement of Appointment
  • Bachelors degree in Commerce / Economics
  • Diploma in Supplies Management
  • Computer proficiency
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensures efficient procurement and distribution of stores, disposal of unserviceable and/or obsolete stores on the recommendation of the NWC & PC Board of Survey
  • Initiates review of procurement policies, regulations and standards
  • Reviews re-order levels and monitors the movement of stores
  • Undertakes marketing surveillance of relevant products
  • Establishes linkages with suppliers
  • Develops and supervises junior staff in the Section
4. Advert No: 24/2010 Job Title: Security Officer I
Grade: NWC 7 Positions Vacant: 1
Requirement of Appointment
  • Satisfactorily served with the Kenya Police in the rank of Inspector or an equivalent rank in the Armed Forces, Prisons Service or the National Youth Service for a minimum period of three (3) years
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Clean record of service in the previous organization
  • Certificate of good conduct
  • Computer proficiency
  • 6 years, 3 of them as Security Officer II
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitors security matters
  • Carries out investigative activities where necessary
  • Advises NWC&PC on best security intervention measures
  • Advises the Chief Human Resource and Administrative Officer on all security matters
  • Liaises closely with other Governmental security organs such as the Kenya Police in all security matters affecting NWC&PC
5. Advert No: 25/2010 Job Title: Human Resources & Administration Officer II
Grade: NWC 6 Positions Vacant: 2
Requirement of Appointment
  • Must be a holder of a Bachelors degree in Social Sciences from a recognized institution
  • Computer Proficiency
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Processes of cases of appointment and promotion
  • Maintains human resource records
  • Processes leave, medical claims and checks payment vouchers
  • Processes compensation and pension cases and performs any other relevant duties as may be assigned, within existing rules, regulation and procedures.
  • Supervises clerical staff under him/her
