The company seeks to recruit a dynamic individual for the position of manager Sourcing Services
Position Title: Manager Sourcing Services
Reports to: Manager Sourcing – Services and Products
Basic Purpose:
  • Lead and anchor strategic sourcing and contracts for purchase of services related to various aspects including CSD, HR, Marketing, Finance etc.
  • Ensure best value for money spend
  • Work towards building a vendor eco-system
Principle Accountabilities:
Expected End Results: Identify Sourcing Needs & Strategy
Major Activities:


  • Identify strategic sourcing needs (for passive network infrastructure equipment) for the African region – Identify tactical vs. strategic deliverables and evaluate value propositions from strategic perspective
  • Identify and develop partners/suppliers of strategic goods and services (for passive network infrastructure equipment) across countries based on business needs and to leverage on One Africa synergies
  • Close coordination with key internal stake holders to ensure right choice of Partners
  • Apprise management of critical issues in sourcing and suggest opportunities for cost saving and improvements
  • Develop new Commercial models for procurement of Services
Expected End Results: Ensure Sourcing Standardization Major Activities:
  • Ensure region and country level tie ups & contracts for various services including:
    • CSD
    • HR
    • Insurance
    • Others
  • Capitalize on synergies and optimise costs
Expected End Results: Cost Benchmarking Major Activities:
  • Cost benchmarking ( in line with standard specification & make – create a system for releasing quarterly/monthly release of rate reference )
  • Though market intelligence for competition reference benchmarks
Expected End Results: Purchase Innovation Major Activities: Derive smarter methods of pan-Africa service purchase
Expected End Results: Risk Mitigation Major Activities:
  • Standardize Tender General Condition for Infrastructure creation
  • Optimize consultants liability on the executed projects
  • Ensure supplier consolidation and central cost referencing for CSD related services partner
Expected End Results: Purchase Process Adherance Major Activities:
  • Ensure adherence to the company policies & procedures
  • Ensure achievement on audit scores as per target
  • Ensure achievement of partner satisfaction scores as per target
Expected End Results: Vendor Assessment Major Activities:
  • Close coordination with key internal stake holders to ensure right choice of Partners
  • Vendor registration
Expected End Results: Vendor Engagement Major Activities:
  • Evaluate the Company’s plan / projections with Vendors Road map
  • Create transparency on synergizing mutual processes
Major Challenges:
  • Ability to operate in a multi cultural, multi country environment
  • Manage expectations of multiple stakeholders – partners, vendors, dealers
  • Manage complex assignments / projects in a different environment
  • Negotiation for re-work activities due to lack of scope planning by internal service consumer
  • Scope sign off by user group before issue of tender doc/ final commercial closure
Essential Skills & Knowledge: Education
  • Possess a BE qualification from a recognized institution, preferably an MBA
Relevant Experience:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in sourcing / commercial/ procurement role with at least 5 years of experience in commercial negotiation
