Department of Information Technology and Engineering

Lecturer
Qualifications
  • Applicants must be holders of B Sc. degree (1st or upper 2nd class honors) from a recognized university in any of the following areas: Information Technology; Information Systems; Computer Science, Computer Based Information and Communication Systems; and Computer Science and Software Engineering or in a related discipline.
  • Candidates must have at least two (2) years teaching experience at a post-secondary institution including at university level.
  • Candidates with a Msc. degree in these fields will have an added advantage.
  • Candidates should be able to effectively teach at least two (2) subjects and the relevant units of the Diploma programme
  • Must demonstrate good leadership ability and effective communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Successful candidates will be expected to participate in curriculum review, preparation of students’ course work, development of student’s supplementary course materials, set and mark students Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs), prepare course examinations, grade students work and prepare assessment reports.
  • In addition, the successful candidates will participate in preparing students’ practical work, assist in placing students for internship, assessing performance and maintaining accurate students’ records.
  • Successful candidates will participate in interviewing and selecting appropriate part-time tutors for Diploma, Certificate and Skills Upgrading courses offered in the department.
  • Successful candidates will participate in setting term/semester dates and preparation of class time tables.
Information Technology Officer
Qualifications
  • Applicants must be holders of KCSE mean grace of C+ (plus) or KCE Division III and above.
  • They must have professional qualification of a Diploma in Electrical and Electronics or Computer Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Must have post qualification working experience of at least two (2) years.
  • Must be conversant with common computer packages and technologies used in information and computer maintenance services.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
  • Overseeing hardware and software installation, configuration and management.
  • Installation and management of interoffice networks.
  • Provide back-up to IT lecturers during practical lessons
  • Advice management on ICT trends and regulations.
  • Provide user support on all ICT utilities and tools.
Department of Business Studies
Lecturer
Qualifications
  • Applicants must be holders of Bachelor of Commerce (1st or upper 2nd class honors) from a recognized university and at least CPA(K)
  • Must have at least two (2) years teaching experience at post-secondary institution including at tertiary level.
  • Candidates with a Master in Business Administration will have an added advantage.
  • Must demonstrate good leadership ability and effective communication skills.
  • Computer literacy is mandatory.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must be holders of a Diploma in Library and Information Science or its equivalent professional qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • In addition, applicants must have post qualification working experience of at least two (2) years in a busy education institution.
  • Proven working knowledge of database management
  • Experience in sourcing library materials.
  • Must be conversant with Library ICT applications including accessing materials through the Internet.
Responsibilities
  • Managing the planning of technical and budgetary functions of the Library and information services with the assistance of the principal and the teaching staff.
  • Planning and implementation of effective access to the library collections and resources by indexing, cataloging and classification of print, audio-visual and electronic resources.
  • Providing Library services in response to the information needs of the users, paying special attention to national and international changing trends.
  • Procurement and maintenance of up-todate library supplies and services.
  • Training students and staff on Internet search engines for research purposes.
  • Maintaining records and management systems for the institute.
Principal’s Office
Administrative Assistant
Qualifications
  • Applicants must be holders of KSCE mean grace C (plus) or KCE Division III and above.
  • They must have credit in English or grade C (plain) and above.
  • They must have a Diploma in Secretarial Duties from a recognized institution.
  • In addition they must have at least 2 (two) years relevant post qualification working experience in a busy office.
  • Must be in possession of certificates and be able to use Word Processing packages, Spreadsheets, Data Base Management packages and knowledge in antivirus tools.
  • Must have effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
  • To provide support to the administrative functions of the Institute and ensure smooth running of business including handling petty cash, making and maintaining record of appointments for Management, and booking venues for meetings as appropriate.
Finance Officer
Qualifications
  • Applicants must be holders of a B. Com degree (Finance and Accounting option) from a recognized university. Those with CPA(K) will have an advantage.
  • At least two (2) years of related work experience.
  • Good working knowledge of common accounting packages.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Must have high integrity and ability to work with multidisciplinary team of professionals and students.
  • Those with experience in handling students’ admissions and examinations will have an added advantage.
Responsibilities
  • In consultation with the Management, prepare a financial management policy guide lines for the institute.
  • Formulate, establish and continually evaluate internal financial controls.
  • Ensure that all statutory returns, payments and tax requirements are settled on time.
  • Oversee the preparation, maintenance and review of annual and quarterly budgets.
  • Prepare analysis reports with respect to costs, revenue, obligations etc to guide decision making at the management level.
  • In consultation with the management, organize the procurement and maintenance of the institution’s supplies and facilities; and maintain a data base for suppliers and other service providers.
  • Preparation and maintenance of all financial records and required supporting documentation.
Department of Teacher Education
Lecturer
Qualifications
  • Applicants must be holders of B Education degree- in either Science or Arts (1st or upper 2nd class honors) from a recognized university in subjects selected from the following broad areas: Professional and Support subjects; Science subjects; Humanities and Creative Arts subjects; Languages and Technical subjects.
  • Candidates must have at least two (2) years teaching experience at a post-secondary institution including at university level.
  • Candidates who have held administrative positions such as Deputy Principal, Senior Teacher or Head of Department will have added advantage.
  • Candidates with a M. Ed degree in these fields will have an added advantage.
  • Candidates should be able to effectively teach at least two (2) subjects and the relevant units of the Diploma programme
  • Must demonstrate good leadership ability and effective communication skills.

Terms:
