Kenya Orient Insurance Ltd seeks to recruit qualified and experienced persons to fill the following vacant/new positions.
Senior Legal Officer

Reporting to Head of Claims the office holder will discharge the following key responsibilities:
  • Appointment of defence lawyers.
  • Recovery of company outlay from negligent third parties.
  • Negotiate amicably, out of court settlements.
  • Review investigation reports and to take remedial action as necessary
  • Process payments to claimants and service providers.
  • Legal research and preparing legal opinions to both external and internal clients.
  • Respond to any correspondence and/or enquiries regarding claims legal issues.
  • Attending court to represent the company and/or as a witness for the company
  • Maintain adequate reserves for legal claims.
Candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor of Law degree, Advocate of the High Court, CPS (K) and 4 years relevant experience.
Human Resources Executive

Reporting to Head of Support Services, the office holder will discharge the following key responsibilities:
  • Drafting job advertisements, Short listing of candidates for interviews and organizing interviews.
  • Ensure that staff disciplinary matters are handled as per company policy.
  • Responsible for all staff welfare issues including medical and group life cover.
  • Management of leave,
  • Coordination of performance reviews for all staff
  • Responsible for staff development issues such as training, deployment, induction, staff appraisal etc.
Candidates should meet the following minimum requirements
  • Bachelors degree, Diploma in HR and 2 years relevant experience.
Legal Clerk

Reporting to the Senior Legal Officer, the successful candidate will discharge the following key responsibilities.
  • With the assistance of Senior legal officer, respond to correspondence and/or enquiries regarding claims legal issues
  • Registration of summons, diarizes hearings, maintain contact with witnesses for purposes of court hearings and register judgments.
  • Management of legal files and documentations
  • Assist in processing of payments to claimants and service providers
The minimum requirements are;
  • O Level Minimum C+, Paralegal Diploma and two years relevant experience.
