Business Development Executive Job Vacancy in Kenya

Our client is a large retail software solutions, smart card system and terminal based integration service provider in East Africa with over ten yrs presence in the market and has cut a niche for itself as a state of the art IT and business transformation solutions provider, emerging as one of the top 100 SME companies in Kenya, are looking to fill in the position of a Business Development Executive.
Job Description
  1. Meet the Sales, Revenue, Cash-flow targets per month
  2. Maintain and develop a computerized customer and prospect database, and sales cycle analysis
  3. Plan and carry out direct marketing activities within agreed budgets, sales volumes, values, product mix and timescales.
  4. Develop ideas and create offers for direct mail and marketing
  5. Respond to and follow up sales enquiries by post, telephone, email, personal visits etc.
  6. Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support, and liaison with relevant staff.

  7. Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information.
  8. Carry out market research, competitor and customer surveys.
  9. Maintain and report on equipment and software suitability for direct marketing and sales
Business (markets, products/services, territory, etc) Development Part:
  1. Facilitate, Conduct Market and technology research
  2. Formulate strategy for the given offering
  3. Plan and manage new product development
  4. Assesses and develop licensing, partnerships
  5. Plan for Sales, Marketing and advertising and promotions
  6. Plan and develop Import/exports
  7. Do Business planning
  8. Plan, launch, manage and implement offerings
Segment/Vertical Management:
  1. Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims, including costs and sales -especially managing personal time and productivity.
  2. Plan and manage personal business portfolio/territory/business according to an agreed market development strategy.
  3. Manage product/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims.
  4. Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer and satisfaction.
  5. Plan/carry out/support local marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organized marketing activities, e.g., product launches, promotions, advertising, exhibitions and telemarketing.
  6. Respond to and follows up sales enquiries using appropriate methods.
  7. Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
  8. Record, analyze, reports and administers according to systems and requirements.
  9. Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
  10. Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
  11. Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.
Experience & Knowledge in Selling IT Solutions like :
  • Point of Sale system, Smartcards, ERP
  • Computer Hardware-Software-Peripheral Sales
  • Networking Solutions
  • Time Attendance & Access Control Systems
  • At least 2-3 years of Experience in the similar field as above
  • Ability to work on tenders, bids, quotations to corporate (SME's) under deadlines
  • Age 25-35 Years
  • Added advantage if has work experience in Nairobi, Nyanza, Western & Coast Regions
  • Added advantage if has work experience in an IT Sales & Service organization
