Board Members for Malindi Water and Sewerage Company Employment Opportunities in Kenya

The Coast Water Services Board (CWSB) is a state corporation established under Sec. 51 of the Water Act 2002, the Board is the sole licensee for the provision of water and sewerage services in the Coast Region. To discharge its mandate CWSB is required by law to contract ‘Agents’ known as Water Services Providers (WSPs).
Pursuant to the License conditions and WASREB guidelines issued under the Water Act 2002, Coast water Services Board is now advertising for 7 No Board Members for Malindi Water and Sewerage Company limited which is one of its Water Service Providers within its license area.
The Board members are drawn from the following key stakeholders’ organizations within the company’s area of operation:
  • Kenya Association of Hotel Keepers
  • Two different women organizations
  • Kenya Association of Manufacturers and Business community.
  • The farming community
  • Professional body.

  • Residents’ Association/Water Users Association.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Must have ‘O’ level education
  • Demonstrate participation in local development initiatives
  • Must possess skills in finance, organizational development, human resources and business planning and experience in the relevant field for more than 7 years
  • Must not have conflicts of interest with the company or associated with the suppliers/contractors of the company.
  • Must not be in current professional, social relationships with the directors of the company.
  • Must be a local/resident of the area.
  • Must not have served for more than 2 terms in the previous Board.

Remuneration and Rewards: Sitting Allowances is paid to Board Members because they provide strategic leadership to the company which serves the residents and therefore they are compensated.
