Accountant and Purchasing Officer Jobs in Kenya

We are the leading FMCG business based in Machakos, working to expand and modify our business operations in line with our new strategic focus.

We are seeking to recruit talented, highly motivated and qualified individuals to the fill the following two positions in our upcoming supermarket:
Accountant

The accountant will report to the Supermarket Manager and will handle the following functions;
  • Supervision of cashiers and accounts staff
  • Verification of accuracy of Accounts data
  • Ensuring all bank reconciliations are done on daily basis
  • Checking and authorizing all the payment vouchers
  • Designing and implementing sound accounting procedures
  • Production of trial balance and review monthly reconciliations of all Accounts
  • Maintain tax records and other statutory deductions
  • Liaise with external auditors with regard to preparation of Accounts
Qualifications

  • Bachelor of commerce Degree or any other relevant degree course.
  • Must have a minimum CPA III
  • Three years of work experience as an accountant in busy organization
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in accounting software
Purchasing Officer

Reporting to the Supermarket manager the position will handle the following functions;
  • Sourcing for Local and International supplies of materials, equipment and general supplies
  • Develop and maintain a database of supplies
  • Oversee annual preparation of procurement plan
  • Prepare and process purchase orders for supplies and equipment
  • Ensure adherences of procurement policies and procedures
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received
  • Monitoring levels of stocks and maintaining required and unexpired goods
  • Participate in negotiation of supplies prices and terms of payment
  • Follow-up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Address suppliers’ quarries, grievances, complainants and any other related issue
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Supplies Management or its equivalent
  • Three years of work experience as purchasing officer at supervisory level
  • Must be a registered member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management
  • Experience in a known established Supermarket
  • Must be computer literate
