The Uganda Energy Credit Capitalisation Company Limited (UECCC) is a Company incorporated in Uganda by the Government of Uganda for the purposes of managing and administering the Uganda Energy Capitalisation Trust (the Trust).
The Trust’s main function is to improve access to long-term commercial debt finance for private developers investing in renewable energy generation and distribution in Uganda.
The UECCC is responsible for overseeing the management of the Trust. It provides credit enhancement support instruments to financial institutions and project sponsors engaged in rural electrification and/or renewable energy projects in Uganda.
The Trust financiers include Government of Uganda as well as multi-lateral and bilateral development partners.
Manager, Finance & Administration

The UECCC invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of Manager, Finance and Administration
Main Task:
The Manager, Finance and Administration will be in charge of ensuring proper financial management of and accountability for the resources of the Trust and general administration of the UECCC Company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Head the Finance and Administration Unit.
  • Oversee UECCC’s day to day financial and accounting activities.
  • Manage the UECCC’s financial planning and I3udgeting process.
  • Prepare “Budget requisitions to Government of Uganda, World Bank and other Development Partners based upon agreed work plans.
  • Manage the preparation of books of accounts in accordance with Government of Uganda, the World Bank and other Development Partner Accounting Instructions;
  • Management of both UECCC’s Project Special Accounts and Local Accounts;
  • Preparation of Financial Statements for external auditing.
  • Review and update the Accounting and Financial Reporting System of UECCC
  • Overseeing UECCC’s Human Resource Management and Administration function.
  • Establishing and improving upon the existing internal controls and procedures.
  • Performing any other duty as may be assigned by the General Manager.
Required Qualifications:
  • A Masters degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting.
  • A good (Honours) degree in Commerce with the option of Accounting/Finance.
  • Membership to a professional body (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA, CFA) an added advantage
  • At least 5 years working experience in Donor Funded, Government aided or large corporate organization projects with at least three (3) years at management level
  • A demonstrable background of professional and strategic leadership, highly motivated and a committed team player.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High Proficiency in Computer Accounting packages
Terms and Conditions of Service:
  • Four (4) years contract with six months probation, renewable upon satisfactory service with an attractive remuneration package.

Manager, Transaction Execution
The UECCC invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of Manager, Transaction Execution.
Main Task:
The Manager, Transaction Execution will be in charge of developing and structuring credit support transactions to financial institutions and project sponsors engaged in rural electrification and or /renewable energy projects. The Manager will undertake detailed project analysis and deal negotiation.
The appointed manager will also be responsible for project management of transactions from origination, through to execution and provision of credit enhancement support instruments as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Structuring of the credit support transactions between UECCC and participating financial institutions and project developers/sponsors;
  • Performing due diligence, including sensitivity analysis, risk analysis and other transaction structuring – related services for projects to be supported by UECCC;
  • Analyse the business plans of Project Developers, with a view to providing focus to the development of the projects
  • Take a proactive approach to developing a project pipeline
  • Provide financial institutions and project sponsors engaged in rural electrification/renewable energy projects with a single point of contact; focused on building a strategic relationship with UECCC that address their needs,
  • Ongoing collaboration and liaison with key stakeholders during the entire project development cycle of the rural electrification and or /renewable energy investment projects.
  • Performing any other duty as may be assigned by the General Manager.
Required Qualifications:
  • A Masters degree in Business Administration, Finance
  • A good (Honours) degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Economics
Experience, Skills and Competencies
  • A demonstrable background and understanding of the market for private investments in renewable energy in Uganda (legal and regulatory framework; key technologies; market potential and challenges; etc.);
  • At least 5 years experience in Project finance, preferably in energy infrastructure financing;
  • At least 5 years developed skill set for financial and risk analysis in the private sector, preferably in banking;
  • A demonstrable transaction completion track record involving multiple stakeholders;
  • Motivation, initiative and project management skills
  • Good written as well as oral communication skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal and public relations skills.
