Logistics Officer – Nairobi
The position: Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Logistics officer is responsible for material/ supplies sourcing, procurement and delivery, stock management and all aspects of supplies chain and management of logistics functions including maintenance of logistics information systems.
This position is based in Nairobi with occasional travel to Mandera.
Competencies: An experienced Logistician with a minimum of 3 years experience with an international organisation.
The following skills and knowledge are essential: Computing/ office technology, principles of stock management, logistical issues specific to the humanitarian context, general principles of procurement and supply chain, basic knowledge of customs clearance and transport with at least some experience and knowledge of managerial responsibilities.
Must have at least a graduate diploma in the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS) or its equivalent. A degree in commerce, business administration or equivalent is desirable but not a must.
