Oxfam GB is a development, relief, and campaigning organisation dedicated to finding lasting solutions to poverty and
suffering around the world. Oxfam GB Kenya, works with pastoralists and other marginalised communities in Arid and Semi Arid Lands (ASAL) as well as the urban centres to address poverty.
Oxfam GB in partnership with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) is planning to set up and manage water and sanitation facilities in Dadaab Refugee camps. We are seeking to recruit experienced and highly motivated personnel to lead, design and implement Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion (WASH) programme.
1. Public Health Engineer

4 Positions
Ref: KEN/DDB/PHE
We require Public Health Engineers to provide adequate support in assessment, design and planning the implementation of water supplies and sanitation facilities for the camp and where necessary for the host community.
This includes; supervising drilling, laying pipe networks, construction of latrines, bathing, laundry, garbage pit and drainage facilities in conjunction with hygiene promotion and community participation. You will also monitor quality and standard of the works, regular monitoring of water quality and sanitary conditions.
You will have a degree in Civil engineering or related public health engineering from a recognized university/college and proven experience of camp water supply and sanitation preferably in emergency and transition projects. You will also have good training and supervision skills with ability to meet strict deadlines.
2. Public Health Promoter
2 Positions
Ref: KEN/DDB/PHP
The Public Health Promoter will support in design of a communication strategy to develop and disseminate messages to create mass awareness on public health and hygiene in the camp and where necessary in the host community.
You will mobilise all sections of the community and plan a participatory/community based approach which will include formation of social structures like Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) committees at different levels and selection of community health volunteers.
You will also support in procuring and distribution of Non Food Items (NFI) and hygiene consumables for issue based hygiene campaigns. You will have a degree in any relevant public health discipline with adequate working experience in a humanitarian context. You will have well developed communication, facilitation and training skills.
3. Human Resources & Administration Officer
Ref: KEN/DDB/HR&AO
The Human Resources & Administration Officer will support the quality of HR business processes including all operational aspects of the generalist Human Resources function.
These will be in the areas of implementation and administration of HR policies, recruitment management, HR management information system, pay and benefits management, employee relations and legal compliance and ensuring best practices in HR Basics.
You will also support in the office administration. To be successful in this role, you will have a university degree in Human Resources Management or Business Management with relevant working experience in an emergency scale up. A good track record of strong HR Management and Administration experience is essential.
Additionally, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong written and reporting skills.
4. Project Accountant
Ref: KEN/DDB/PA
The Project Accountant will ensure the programme maintains high standards of financial management, internal controls, accounting, budget monitoring and reporting. You will have a University degree coupled with accountancy professional qualification i.e completed ACCA or CPA (K) with extensive working experience in accounts at a community level with NGOs.
This job demands rigorous and careful attention to routine systems and procedures and complete integrity at all times.
You will have excellent analytical skills and ability to work effectively with others in a culturally diverse organisation.
5. Logistics Manager
Ref: KEN/DDB/LM
The Logistics Manager will provide logistics support by ensuring proper implementation and management of Oxfam’s and donor supply chain procedures. You will have relevant degree qualification in Logistics/Supply Chain Management or equivalent with significant experience in logistics management in a humanitarian and/or development programme with an INGO.
You will have demonstratable experience in purchasing, warehousing, fleet management and people management.
Attention to detail and excellent numeracy skills are essential. You will have the ability to work under pressure in response to changing needs.
