Overall Purpose of the Position
To supervise the media monitoring and training unit of the Council in a manner that develops, maintains and continually improves the Council image and reputation to stakeholders and partners.
Duties
- To supervise media monitoring and to guide media monitors and interns to ensure strict adherence to the monitoring principles.
- To conduct regular research on training needs of the media and conceptualise and training accordingly.
- Coordinate the Council training activities both in-house and externally.
- Coordinate the writing and production of the annual State of the Media Report.
- Motivate the monitors by consistently and continually monitoring, guiding, encouraging and training them to achieve the highest professional and ethical standards in their work.
Qualifications
- University degree in Journalism
- Post graduate qualification in project management and proposal writing an added advantage
- Minimum 3 years experience in Media Monitoring and/or Research
1 year renewable contract
