Lake Victoria South Water Services Board was established on 12th March 2004 vide gazette notice No.1714 under the
Water Act 2002 as a State Corporation.

It is responsible for the provision of efficient and economical Water and Sanitation Services in its area of jurisdiction.

Chief Accountant
Required skills and Qualifications
For appointment to this position the successful candidate must:-
- Have a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option) from a recognized University
- Have CPA (K) final
- Have at least 6 years experience as accountant three of which should be in a senior position in a busy organization.
- Be proficient with computerized accounting systems
- Have effectively co-ordinated external audits.
- Have at least four years experience in preparation of final accounts.
- Must be a member of ICPAK
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Chief Manager Finance and Administration and will perform the following duties:-
- Interpretation and implementation of financial policies, budget controls, management methods and financial returns.
- Co-ordination, preparation and submission of monthly financial reports.
- Ensuring control of accounts documents and proper preparation and maintenance of accounting and financial records
- Interpretation and implementation of sound accounting systems and controls
- Supervising, developing and training of staff below him
- Ensure maintenance of Board’s liquidity levels and effective debt management
- Preparation of final accounts and co-ordination of external audits
- Develop and implement computerized accounting systems in the Board Headquarters and its regional offices.
