School of Agriculture and Enterprise Development
Department of Agricultural Resource Management
Associate Professor
Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in areas of Animal Science/Production, Soil Physics or Soil Genesis and Classification from a recognized university.
In addition the applicant must:
  • Have at least eight (8) years of University teaching, four (4) of which as a full-time Senior Lecturer.
  • Have successfully supervised at least four (4) Masters Students and one (1) PhD student since being appointed Senior Lecturer.
  • Show evidence of continuing research including having published at least four (4) articles in refereed journals since being appointed Senior Lecturer.
  • Show evidence of having successfully applied for a grant/research proposal.
  • Show evidence of attendance and contribution at learned Conferences, Seminars or Workshops.
  • Show evidence of active participation in departmental activities, leadership and good quality teaching.
Senior Lecturer


Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in areas of Animal or Dryland Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering or Horticulture or Agro-Meteorology from a recognized university.
In addition the applicant must:
  • Have at least five (5) years of University teaching, three (3) of which as a full–time Lecturer after PhD qualification.
  • Have successfully supervised at least three (3) Masters students and one (1) PhD student since being appointed Lecturer.
  • Show evidence of continuing research including having published at least three (3) articles in refereed journals since being appointed Lecturer.
  • Show evidence of attendance and contribution at learned Conferences, Seminars or Workshops.

Lecturer
Applicants must he holders of a Ph.D. degree in Agro-Meteorology, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Soil Science or Agricultural Resource Management, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering from a recognized university or have
successfully defended PhD thesis.

In addition the applicants must have: -
  • Presented at least three (3) Seminar papers or has two (2) publications in refereed journals
  • Full time University teaching experience as a Tutorial Fellow or Assistant Lecturer for at least three (3) years.
Tutorial Fellow
Applicants must be holders of Masters Degree in Animal Science, Agricultural Engineering or Horticulture, Soil Science, Veterinary Medicine or Dryland Agriculture from a recognized university. Successful applicants must be
prepared to pursue PhD degree in their areas of their specialization.

Those who have evidence of pursuing a PhD degree and have university teaching experience will have an added advantage.
Senior Technician
Grade E/F
Applicants must be holders of B.Sc. Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Horticulture or any other related field
from a recognized university. Candidates with Higher National Diploma in the relevant field from a recognized
institution may also be considered.

In addition, applicants must:
  • Have at least five (5) years relevant working experience in a busy teaching or research laboratory as a Technician.
  • Show evidence of computer literacy
  • Demonstrate leadership and administrative skills.
Technician
Grade A/B
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division III or KCSE mean Grade C (Plain) and above. They must also have professional qualification of a Diploma in Applied Biology or related field from a recognized institution.
In addition the applicant must:
  • Have at least three (3) years relevant working experience in a busy teaching or research laboratory.
  • Show evidence of computer literacy.
Junior Technician
Grade III/IV
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division IV or KCSE mean Grade D+ (plus) and above. The applicant must have a certificate in Agriculture from a recognized institution.
In addition the applicant must:
  • Have at least three (3) years of relevant working experience in a busy teaching or research based institution.
  • Be a computer literate.
  • Applicants with field research project experience will have an added advantage.
Department of Agricultural Science & Technology
Senior Technician
Grade E/F
Applicants must be holders of B.Sc. Degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Agriculture or any other related field from a recognized university. Candidates with a Higher National Diploma in Applied Biology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution may also be considered.
In addition, the applicants must;
  • Have at least five (5) years relevant working experience in a busy teaching or research institution as a Technician.
  • Show evidence of computer literacy
  • Demonstrate leadership and administrative skills.
  • Candidates with B.Sc. or HND in Agriculture or Horticulture and have the above additional requirements should also apply to be considered for the post of Senior Field Technician.
Technician
Grade C/D
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division II or KCSE mean Grade C+ (Plus) and above. They must also have professional qualification of a Higher National Diploma in Applied Biology or equivalent professional qualification from a recognized institution.
In addition the applicant must:
  • Have at least three (3) years relevant working experience in a busy teaching or research based institution as Technician.
  • Show evidence of computer literacy.
Technician
Grade A/B
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division III or KCSE mean Grade C (plain) and above. They must also have an Ordinary Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture from a recognized institution.
In addition the applicant must:
  • Have at least three (3) years of relevant working experience in a busy teaching or research based institution
  • Show evidence of computer literacy
  • Candidates with Ordinary Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture and have the above additional requirements should also apply to be considered for the post of Field Technician.
Junior Technician
Grade III/IV
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division IV or KCSE mean Grade D+ (plus) and above. They must also have a Junior Laboratory Technician Certificate (JLT) or Laboratory Technology certificate from a recognized institution.
In addition the applicant must:
  • Have at least three (3) years of relevant working experience in a busy teaching or research based institution.
  • Be a computer literate.
School of Education
Department of Educational Foundations
Applicants are invited for teaching positions in the Department of Educational Foundations at Mombasa and Kitui Campuses in the areas shown below. Applicants are advised to indicate their preferred campus:

School of Law
Applicants are invited for teaching positions in the Department of Public Law and Department of Private Law to teach in any of the following areas: Criminal Law, Law of Contract, Social foundations of Law, Legal Research Methods, Torts, Constitutional Law, Civil Procedure, Criminal procedure, Sale of Goods, Agency and Negotiable Instruments, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Administrative Law, Family Law, Evidence, Trial Advocacy Skills, Professional Ethics and Responsibility, Law of Succession and Land Law.

Senior Lecturer
Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree from a recognized university in any one of the following areas:-
Histocytopathology, Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Immunology, Forensic Medicine (Pathology), Haematology & Transfusion Science, Human/Medical Genetics

In addition the applicant must:
  • Have at least five (5) years of University teaching, three (3) of which as a full–time Lecturer after PhD qualification.
  • Have successfully supervised at least three (3) Masters students and one (1) PhD student since being appointed Lecturer.
  • Show evidence of continuing research including having published at least three (3) articles in refereed journals since being appointed Lecturer.
  • Show evidence of attendance and contribution at learned Conferences, Seminars or Workshops.
  • Show evidence of active participation in departmental activities, leadership and good quality teaching.
Lecturer

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Chief Technician
Applicants must be holders of M.Sc. degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with specialization in Telecommunications, EIectroncs, or Power Systems and Machines from a recognized University.
In addition applicants must:-
  • Have at least three (3) years relevant work experience in Electrical & Electronics Engineering laboratories
  • Be conversant with maintenance, installation and commissioning of Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering Systems and Equipment
  • Be conversant with health, safety and environmental regulations in workshops and laboratories
  • Be able to interpret design of Engineering drawings for projects for undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Show evidence of having administrative experience
  • Those with a B.Sc. degree or Higher National Diploma in the relevant field and have at least five (5) years relevant work experience as stated above may also be considered.
  • Knowledge of computer applications including CAD will be an added advantage.
Technician
Grade C/D
Applicants must be holders of B.Sc. degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with specialization in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Power Systems and Machines from a recognized University. Candidates with Higher National Diploma in the relevant field from a recognized institution may also be considered.
In addition applicants must:-
  • Have at least five (5) years relevant working experience in a busy teaching or research Laboratory as a Technician.
  • Show evidence of computer literacy.

Terms of Service:
Terms of service for teaching posts of lecturer and above include membership to a pension scheme, a generous medical scheme, housing allowance and commuting allowance. Other posts will be on performance based two (2) year renewable contract plus gratuity at the end of the contract, a generous medical scheme, housing allowance and commuting allowance.
