As part of the organizations change process, a Pension Scheme serving Local Authorities and Associated Organizations is looking for four exceptional individuals to fill the following vacancies:
Chief Manager, Operations
Overall Purpose: The Chief Manager, Operations is responsible for the effective management of the organizations pension schemes, outsourced business and consultancy unit.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include
  • developing and implementing business growth strategies.
  • setting up new schemes and advising on related procedures.
  • putting in place operational systems, policies and standard operating procedures; advising on and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • identifying risks and ensuring these are mitigated to reduce exposures.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Applicants must have a Masters degree in Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science or other relevant qualification.
  • A Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in a management position.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong pensions’ management/administration skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of the pensions industry and regulations a must.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial focus and have strong strategic planning, leadership and change management skills.
Chief Manager, Finance and Investments
Overall Purpose: The Chief Manager, Finance and Investments provides technical, strategic and professional leadership in the management of the organizations finances in order to secure its resources and maximise on returns.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include
  • developing sound financial plans.
  • overseeing the design of investment programmes.
  • enhancing of accounting and reporting systems.
  • ensuring compliance with corporate and statutory reporting requirements.
  • corporate forecasting and identification of new financing opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Applicants must have a Masters degree in Finance or other relevant qualification.
  • be a CPA-K or ACCA.
  • have a minimum of 8 years experience in a similar is essential.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • excellent knowledge of international accounting standards.
  • strong financial management and investment skills and hands on technical ability.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking capacity and strong analytical skills.
  • leadership and change management skills are essential.
Chief Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications
Overall Purpose: The Chief Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications will be responsible for raising the organizations profile and increasing its visibility with the aim of positioning the organization as a key player in the pensions sector.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include
  • developing effective marketing and corporate communication strategies.
  • product development; brand management; market research and analysis.
  • coordinating corporate social responsibility and public relations activities.
  • designing and coordinating pensions scheme education programmes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Applicants must have a Masters degree in Marketing, Communication or other relevant qualification.
  • have a professional qualification in PR, Corporate Communications or other related field.
  • have a minimum of 8 years experience in a similar role is essential.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • strong marketing skills.
  • excellent knowledge of strategic communications.
  • an understanding of corporate communication trends.
  • strong research skills.
  • Excellent relationship building, influencing, interpersonal, communication.
  • presentation skills are a must.
Manager, Legal and Board Secretarial Services
Overall Purpose: The Manager, Legal and Board Secretarial Services will provide technical guidance to the Board of Trustees, Directors and other subsidiary companies in the development and enforcement of robust and facilitative legal frameworks.
Key Responsibilities

Key roles include providing
  • technical support to the Board on good corporate governance.
  • drafting and negotiating commercial transactions.
  • facilitating arbitration and disputes settlement; preparing opinions and legal interpretations.
  • overseeing internal and external legal corporate services.
  • undertaking legal research and analysis.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Applicants must have a Masters degree in Law (LLM), LLB Honours, be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
  • Must be a CPS-K.
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in a similar role is essential.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • A strong background in and knowledge of commercial law and legal and regulatory frameworks governing the financial and pensions sectors.
  • A high level of integrity, strong analytical ability, critical thinking.
  • well developed research ability and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are a must.
