The position
Reporting to the Divisional Director HR, the position will lead the training and development function ensuring its productivity towards meeting business needs as well as be responsible for the overall efficient management of the KCB Leadership Centre operations and activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create a training and development strategy, vision and action plan to implement dynamic learning systems contributing to the success of the organization
  • Responsible for executing the entire training process, needs assessment, development and/or outsourcing of training programs, including content, delivering of training programs and evaluation of effectiveness of training
  • Manage the overall operations and activities of the KCB Leadership centre efficiently
  • Ensure achievement of individual training needs as well as organizational goals in terms of desired or expected performance
  • Ensure training and development conducted is based on sound learning principles, be perceived as important by trainees, and be conducted in a manner that maximizes learning and ensure alignment to OD strategic objectives

  • Evaluate training and development to determine effectiveness of training and to help guide change and improvement
  • Designing and implementing methodologies for effectiveness of training programs
  • Researches and recommends a complement of internal and external learning programs that align with the organizations business objectives and employee needs
  • Support Talent Management planning initiatives by developing and maintaining Talent development programs
  • Develops and delivers management information reports to track and benchmark learning and development participation, costs, benefits, and manage the training budget
  • Provide leadership to the Training and Development team and monitor their performance
The Person
In order to be considered for the above position, all applicants should have:
  • University Degree from a recognized institution. Possession of a postgraduate degree or professional qualification in a related field will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience leading a learning and development function, that is responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing training programs and supporting the training and development function at a senior level position in a large Corporate Institution.
  • Experience in managing a busy learning/leadership centre
  • Experience in a financial institution will be an added advantage
  • Experience of partnering with third parties and budget management
  • Experience of implementing a wide range of Change management and process improvement activities
  • Adeptness at online delivery of training through a learning management system
  • Must display superior verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Able to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization.
  • Working knowledge of current and emerging training tools and learning aids.
  • Flexibility with a willingness to handle a variety of projects at the same time
  • Demonstrated creativity and analytical ability.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with a diverse group.
