Information Technology Manager: Nairobi 5 Star Hotel Jobs in Kenya

A leading 5 star hotel in Nairobi invites applications from qualified candidates for the above vacant post.
A Brief Job Description
The job-holder will provide both technical and administrative direction of a major functional area devoted to one or more aspects of IT services and will be responsible for the Hotels entire IT services effort, supporting the user  departments and coordinating the work of personnel supporting these services.
Job Requirements and Person Specification
Education / Qualifications
  • A recognized IT professional qualification such as Degree/Advanced Diploma in IT or Computer Science & Technology.
  • Recognized IT vocational qualifications such as Networking, Server+, MICROS Fidelio & SUN Systems

Extensive previous experience and proven track record of:
  • providing IT Infrastructure support in a complex multi-site organization, preferably a 5 star hotel to include Windows servers and storage, network switches, routers and firewalls and wide area networks.
  • leading operational IT services, covering applications, infrastructure and service desk to ensure effective and efficient provision.
  • providing a highly technical and “hands-on” expert lead for infrastructure services.
  • successfully maintaining and developing IT policies, processes and procedures.
  • leading the management and development of an organization’s IT operations to ensure systems and information are not compromised and safe continued business operation.
  • developing and implementing reporting tools/systems to enable effective capacity planning and cost control
  • supporting the development of project plans and the effective delivery of IT projects to agreed timescales, providing appropriate resources from the operational teams for which you are responsible, as necessary.
Knowledge, Ability and Skills
  • Knowledge of electronic theory and practice as applied to the installation, maintenance and repair of computers and related equipment.
  • Must have worked with Fidelio suite including Micros 8700/9700 POS system for at least 2 years, conversant with active directory and be familiar with email administration preferably exchange server administration.
  • Able to meet deadlines and juggle multiple priorities; versed in desktop publishing tools such as Corel draw, Photoshop or PageMaker along with other useful design software.
  • Able to compose and execute promotional materials, graphics for Menus, websites and build PowerPoint presentations on an “as needed” basis.
  • Artistic ability and creative thinking for designing eye-catching and effective graphics.
