GOAL Kenya Jobs: Child Protection Programme Manager

GOAL is an international humanitarian organisation devoted to the alleviation of poverty among the poorest of the poor in society.
GOAL Kenya wishes to recruit an innovative, dynamic and committed Child Protection Programme Manager.
The Manager will be responsible for child protection policy development and provide the administrative, budget, and line management of staff working under in Child Protection Programme and lead technical inputs into design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
He or she will be responsible for linking GOAL Kenya programmes to the wider policy environment and advocacy on key issues relevant to child protection.
Summary of duties
  • Development of GOAL Kenya’s Child Protection strategy and a comprehensive implementation plan;
  • Budget management in Child Protection Programme;
  • Using Participatory Action Research methodology:

    • Support development of child and community-led child protection structures and strategies (based on AAC directives)
    • Integrate these structures into supporting multi-sectoral programming in informal settlement (slum) education
    • Identify and map potential civil society organisation to partner with in implementation of the programme
  • Mainstreaming of child protection for GOAL Kenya projects and partners
  • Represent GOAL Kenya in national and district forums which relate to child protection;
  • Preparation of monthly and other written reports for internal and external use;
  • Preparation of new project documents/proposals
Job Requirements:
  • Posses a Degree in Human Rights, International Law, Sociology, Development Studies or relevant field.
  • Additional qualifications in counselling will be an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years experience in managing and implementation of child protection programs preferably in an NGO setting.
  • Proven experience in managing staff and ensuring that program objectives are met in an effective and efficient manner.
