Country Director Job Vacancy: Hand in Hand Kenya

The Hand in Hand Group is a young global family of development organisations with the goal to create ten million jobs among the poor. We are currently expanding our operations into Kenya, with an initial goal of creating 50,000 jobs among marginalised women, and are looking for a Country Director.
Hand in Hand was established in India, through collaboration between global business leader Percy Barnevik and an innovative Indian NGO-leader Kalpana Sankar and her team. In seven years 550,000 women have been mobilised and some 440,000 familybased enterprises promoted at the core hub of Hand in Hand Tamil Nadu in India. Hand
in Hand organisations also operate in Southern Africa and Afghanistan. Funds come from private entrepreneurs, corporations and multi- and bilateral institutions such as FMO, SIDA, Norad and IFC.
We look for an innovative, practical and driving leader. On your CV are probably references to microfinance or agricultural and community development. But you might also come from private business, with experience in running production or provision of rural services.
You have a passion for supporting the poor, and are also comfortable with delivery at a high pace and with strict metrics.

Your tasks will involve building and leading an organisation from the ground up that excels in job creation among the rural poor. You will build up expertise in enterprise development, training, microfinance and fundraising with the help of the global Hand in Hand team.
You will then lead your team in mobilising rural poor into livelihood creation and enterprise development, with an eye for further roll-out to neighbouring East African nations within the next few years.
Please send your CV to Josefine Lindange, deadline for applications 5/7/2010
