To support their growing operations in the region, they are looking for committed, innovative professional go getters and fast learners to join their experienced team in their Nairobi Office in the following positions.
Coffee Trader
You will contribute to the overall success of the East African coffee platform through origination strategies that maximize profitability through onward sales to an international customer base. This will include negotiating purchases in origin, and sales contracts to international buyers of African Arabica and Robusta coffees; and managing counter party risk through supplier and purchaser vetting.

You will be responsible for quality management, developing and managing supplier and buyer relationships, and identifying risks, threats and opportunities and responding appropriately. Analyzing commodity supply and demand data to support strategic trading, will be a core responsibility.
Requirements: You will be a business degree holder at Bachelor’s level or higher and/or have export commodity trading experience of at least five (5) years. We will be looking for experience of merchandising, origination, trading and commodity risk management. A good understanding of Arabica and/or Robusta Coffee Trade and origination is very important.
Coffee Trade Assistant / Junior Commercial Assistant
This position contributes to the success of the East African coffee platform by supporting all coffee trade functions and acting as a liaison between the Nairobi trading desk, the Mombasa administrative centre and the Geneva trading head office.
You will compile and maintain purchase and sales records; support the preparation of trading budgets and research on commodity supply and demand to contribute to decision making. You may also be called upon to attend some in-country industry meetings and participate in the coffee auctions on behalf of the trader.
Requirements: You will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business, agribusiness or a related discipline and three to five (3-5) years experience in commodity trading including merchandising and/or origination. We will consider individuals with experience in a Treasury department of a bank; trading on the stock exchange floor; or shipping or logistics management. A good understanding of Arabica and/or Robusta Coffee Trade and origination will be an advantage.
Graduates Trainees – Mombasa & Nairobi
This entry position contributes to the success of the East African activities by supporting all trade functions and acting as a liaison between the Nairobi and Mombasa trading desk and the Geneva trading head office. You will compile and maintain purchases and sales records; support the logistics team; support research on commodity supply and demand to contribute to decision making. You may also be called upon to attend some in-country industry meetings and travel in the region, developing our product and client reach.
Requirements: You will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business, agribusiness or a related discipline and one to three (1-3) years work experience. We will consider individuals with experience in commodities; Treasury department of a bank; trading on the stock exchange floor; or shipping or logistics management.
