 Risk & Compliance Officer (JG M4)
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to Risk & Audit Manager to review, enforce internal controls and implement the Corporation’s risk management policy.
The specific tasks will include:
  • Measuring risks levels and advising management on best practices and proposing suitable controls to mitigate risks
  • Preparing quarterly risk reports for management and the Audit Committee of the Board
  • Ensure a risk reporting and consolidation mechanism is in place
  • Ensure compliance with Risk Management Policy and best practices in risk management
  • Developing and documenting risk based audit programmes setting out the nature, timing and extent of planned audit procedures required for implementation;
  • Appraising and reporting on the financial statements, reliability of underlying financial data, accuracy and integrity of records;
  • Executing periodic routine and surprise audits to safeguard corporation’s assets;
  • Making recommendations and improvement on the existing internal control systems and procedures;
  • Ensuring that audit recommendations are implemented through regular follow ups with the auditees;
Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent from a recognized university;
  • CPA(K) or equivalent;
  • CISA qualification added advantage;
  • At least 5 years experience, 3 years should be in a senior auditor’s position;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills;
  • Proficiency in standard  office Computer Programs and applications
  • Experience working with ERP will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
