Public Health Specialist (HIV Prevention) Vacancy – Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Kenya Jobs in Kisumu

The United States Embassy – Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Kenya has a vacancy forPublic Health Specialist (HIV Prevention) in Kisumu.
The Public Health Specialist will be responsible for coordinating the day to day administrative duties for the prevention section in Nyanza Province, providing technical support to partners (Ministry of Health with a focus on Provincial Health Management Team/District Health Management Teams and other prevention partners) within the framework of combination prevention and supporting the GAP Nyanza team in other HIV/AIDS cross-cutting programmatic activities.
The general responsibilities of the position are to ensure that all activities contribute to achievement of CDC Kenya goals.
Requirements:
  • Medical qualification (MBchB, MBBS, or equivalent) and Master in Public Health/MSC (Epidemiology) is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in HIV/AIDS related implementation of public health programs is required.
  • Level IV English ability and Level IV Kiswahili is required.

  • Must have medical background of having practiced as a medical doctor, being conversant with the Kenya Public Health system and having good HIV/AIDS public health knowledge.
  • Must have excellent management, supervision and communication skills.
  • Must have ability to collaborate with counterparts including other CDC branches, USG agencies, GoK, NGSs, CBOs and other partner-supported projects.
  • Must have computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets computer programs and excellent in report writing skills.
