Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE) Jobs: Manager, Product Development

The Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE) plays a key role in the economy through raising capital for businesses, mobilizing savings for investment and improving corporate governance.
We do this through providing a world class trading facility. In line with this mandate, the Exchange is seeking to recruit qualified, dynamic, self- motivated and results- oriented individuals to fill the following positions:
Manager, Product Development
Overall Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Market & Product Development, the Manager, Product Development will be responsible for providing market research input towards the development and implementation of new products, new listings and markets.
In addition, he/she will educate the public purposely to increase awareness about NSE and its products to boost NSE’s business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide research and technical input for the development of products, new listings and markets under the NSE Strategic Plan;
  • Interpret the contents of financial and production reports;
  • Analyze market information and performance statistics data to forecast market opportunities, identify competitor threats and anticipate potential need to modify business plans;
  • Define business opportunities and research alternate solutions, including options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities;
  • Compile and analyse data on market indicators such as the NSE 20 share index, market capitalization, number of shares traded, equity turnover, bond turnover, number of deals;
  • Provide methodology for setting market goals and allocating them to the area and location levels;
  • Provide research and analysis of NSE rate positioning based on Market and competitor knowledge, research industry trends and performance;
  • Review and coordinate the updating of the NSE information content;
  • Review and implement the data vending concept, information product segmentation, pricing, promotion and vendor sign up in line with expected new revenue target streams by the Board;
  • Implement strategic regional cross listing plans and programs aimed at integrating the East African Securities Exchanges;
  • Work with other departments to input value added features in new products and enhance existing products in line with market demands;
  • Administration of the ASEA Secretariat.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Business Studies, Economics, Finance or Information Technology or similar disciplines from a reputable university; Masters degree would be an added advantage
  • Thorough knowledge of the Exchange’s products, trading rules and procedures
  • Minimum six (6) years working experience as a market researcher, business/ investment analyst, product/business development officer in a financial market.
