Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is a nonprofit international health organization with nearly 2000 staff from more than 60 nations. Our mission is to save lives and improve the health of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people by closing the gap between knowledge and action in public health.
MSH is seeking candidates for the Leadership Management and Sustainability (LMS) in Kenya. The program will support public sector units of the health system, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Faith Based Organizations (FBOs) and other USAID partners by strengthening the leadership and management capabilities at the provincial, district and community level facilities.
Deputy Project Director
The Deputy Project Director (DPD) provides managerial oversight for the Program Management Unit of the project. She / He will oversee and manage the Public Sector Portfolio and provide focused, high-quality institutional capacity building assistance for public sector client organizations where appropriate.

S/he will build and maintain relationships with key client stakeholders and be responsible for achieving client-specific
goals. A successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree in public health, international development, public administration, management, social sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience in managing programs of similar magnitude and complexity.
Additionally, s/he will demonstrate a successful track record of implementing successful interventions within the Kenyan health system. Familiarity with and understanding of USAID administrative procedures will be a distinct advantage.
Senior Technical Advisor / Financial Management Technical Advisor
The Senior Technical Advisor/ Financial Management will lead the technical specialist unit of the project to collaboratively design and implement targeted capacity building and technical assistance for clients and partner organizations. S/he will be also responsible for leading a team of professionals to transfer essential skills in financial management, including appropriate costing of services, budgeting and management of funds to strengthen the operational and financial capacity, to clients and partners.
A successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field. The candidate will have thorough knowledge of USAID program management, of applicable regulations and requirements, and of
institutional capacity building and will be able to prioritize and manage a complex portfolio, collaborating with
varied stakeholders.
Senior Administrative Assistant
The Senior Administrative Assistant provides general administrative services to the LMS Nairobi office under the direction of the Project Director. S/he will provide administrative, logistical, and clerical support to field staff and local and international consultants. A successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree and at least two years of relevant administrative assistant experience. S/he will possess strong administrative, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills. Experience with and/or knowledge of USAID or other international donor organizations is a plus.
Communication and Knowledge Exchange Coordinator
The Communications and Knowledge Coordinator increases the understanding and awareness of the challenges facing the Leadership, Management and Sustainability (LMS) project and its expected impact on health outcomes. S/he contributes to the development and dissemination of various project literatures, including regular and ad hoc reporting to USAID.
Candidates will hold a Masters degree in public health, education, communication, public policy, international development or related field and 5 years of relevant experience. S/he will demonstrate excellent writing and editing skills for a variety of mediums and excellent interpersonal and public communication skills. Candidates with knowledge of international programs, strategies, donors and client organizations will have a distinct advantage.
