International Medical Corps (IMC) is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering by harnessing local capacity to address the health problems of low income and vulnerable populations.
With programs in HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria, Reproductive Health, Child Survival, Nutrition and Health and Water & Sanitation IMC Kenya works in partnership with the government, development partners and local communities to develop and implement dynamic health and related interventions that enable hard-to-reach populations lead healthier lives.
IMC is looking for a Deputy Country Director / Technical Director.
Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:
- Provide technical and operational guidance and oversight to CDC-funded HIV and TB Programs;
- Work closely with the CDC and other donors to ensure compliance with programmatic targets and deliverables;
- Oversee the preparation of technical and programmatic reports to donors;
- Attend sector cluster meetings in Nairobi, and liaise closely with potential HIV and Health Partner Organizations;
- Provide operational and technical support, as needed, to additional IMC Programs in Kenya, in Nutrition, Water and Sanitation, and Primary Health;
- Actively identify and pursue new opportunities in HIV, TB and Primary Health in Kenya;
- Backstop the Country Director, as needed;
- Coordinate and oversee the collection of data and other M&E processes, in collaboration with the M&E team;
- Conduct regular technical assistance visits to the program sites throughout Kenya.
Qualifications:-
- Degree in Medicine – preferred
- Advanced University degree in Public Health;
- Proven technical expertise in Public Health, HIV and TB;
- Minimum of ten years experience working in Africa, Kenya preferred;
- Knowledge of PEPFA AR Grants;
- Excellent knowledge of and experience working with USAID, CDC, PRM and the UN;
- Strong leadership skills and experience;
- Cultural sensitivity.
