Rural Electrification Authority (REA) Jobs in Kenya

The Rural Electrification Authority (REA) is a State Corporation established under the Section 67 of the Energy Act, 2006. The primary mandate of the Authority is to accelerate rural electrification in order to promote sustainable development.

The Authority is seeking applications from self motivated and dynamic individuals to take up the following positions:
Analyst/Programmer

MG 11 (1 Post)
 

The right candidate will be expected to have suitable skills and experience to undertake the following:

  • Be responsible for systems design, development and testing of application programs and ABAP customized reports;
  • Trouble shoot system errors/bugs and develop appropriate solution;
  • Analyze user requests for SAP system enhancement and configuration and provide appropriate solution;
  • Validate that new system changes are moved to production correctly and update system documentation;
  • Train end users on new system features or upgrades; Participate in technical evaluations of proposed ICT systems;
  • Provide support to workflow systems;
  • Develop technical documentation including technical manuals, system design and operational procedures for implemented systems.
Qualifications
  • B.S.c degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems or equivalent degree;
  • At least three (3) years relevant ICT experience in a challenging business environment;
  • Good knowledge of ABAP programming, Linux and/or UNIX operating Systems.
Internal Auditor - Technical duties

Duties
  • Participate in the planning and conducting of audit reviews on REA technical operations;
  • Participate in the development of strategies to eliminate/minimize avoidable losses to the Authority and ensure compliance with policies, plans, procedures and statutory regulations;
  • Conduct physical inspections of REA projects to ensure they meet the required technical specifications and standards;
  • Clear issues arising from preliminary technical audits and flag out the areas requiring urgent attention;
  • Discuss the audit findings with the departmental managements ;
  • Prepare timely and accurate technical audit reports;
  • Perform duties of a team leader.
Qualifications
  • B Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering ;
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant working experience preferably in auditing;
  • At least CPA / ACCA part II
  • A working knowledge of computer operations and systems;
  • Be of high integrity, have excellent communication and interpersonal skill, effective analytical skills and demonstrate effective leadership;
  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of maturity and work with minimum supervision;
  • Qualifications such as CISA, CIA shall be an added advantage.
Management Trainees
Qualifications
  • The candidates must holders of a Bachelors degree (upper second class or above) and must also have graduated within the last two years specializing in the areas indicated below: Electrical/mechanical/civil engineering/, B.Com (Accounting/finance option), Economics, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Communications, Mathematics/Statistics, Information Technology/Computer science. Law.
  • Aged 27 years or below;
  • Computer literate;
  • Post graduate training in the relevant field will be an added advantage.
