Background

ICT Consultant/Contractor
Summary
NDI seeks qualified individual consultant or firm based in Kenya to contribute to the technical aspects of its programs
in data visualization and digital mapping. The contractor would be sought for an average of 10 hours per week, though
some flexibility is required.
The contractor should be available to start immediately.

Qualifications

  • Strong quantitative background regardless of field of degree
  • Experience working with PostGRES and PostGlS
  • Solid understanding of MYSQL
  • Strong GIS background
  • Open source experience desired
  • Demonstrated interest in integrating technical solutions to political issues
  • Interest in data visualization
  • Desire to learn more about statistical software and statistical software applications

Programs Assistant – ICT

Summary
NDI seeks a qualified individual to join its Nairobi-based team on a full-time basis. This is dynamic position for someone with a background in technology and political issues, who wants to apply their technical skills to programmatic goals.
Ideally, the post-holder should be available immediately.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Geography with an emphasis on GIS (or similar relevant experience)
  • Some knowledge of computer programming, preferably MySQL
  • High level of Internet literacy in Web 2.0 functionality
  • Demonstrated interest in learning more about statistical software
  • Demonstrated interest in integrating technical solutions to political issues
  • Well-organized and skilled in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks
  • Flexible, diligent and team-oriented
  • Some experience in either the research or NGO sector desirable
