Professor
Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Food Science or Community Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized university.
In addition the applicant must:
  • Have at least twelve (12) years of University teaching, five (5) of which as Associate Professor.
  • Have successfully supervised at least four (4) Masters students and one (1) PhD student since being appointed Associate Professor.

  • Full time University teaching experience as a Tutorial Fellow or Assistant Lecturer for at least three (3) years.
Tutorial Fellow
Applicants must be holders of Masters Degree in Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized university. In addition applicants must be prepared to pursue PhD degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Those who have evidence of pursuing a PhD degree and have university teaching experience will have an added advantage.
Technician
Grade A/B
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division III or KCSE mean Grade C (Plain) and above. They must also have professional qualification of a Diploma in Applied Biology/Analytical Chemistry or related field from a recognized institution.
In addition the applicant must:
  • Have at least three (3) years relevant working experience in a busy teaching or research laboratory preferably in the area of food microbiology or food chemistry.
  • Show evidence of computer literacy.

Associate Professor

Department of Pathology
Chief Technician
Applicants must be holders of B.Sc. degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized university.
In addition applicants must:-
  • Have at least 5 years of relevant work experience as a Senior Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist in an Institution of Higher Learning or a Level 3 Public Health facility
  • Show evidence of having administrative experience
  • Be a computer literate
Those with a minimum of Higher National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology /Medical Laboratory Sciences and have at least five (5) years relevant work experience may also be considered.
Responsibilities
The Chief Technician will be the overall person in charge of all teaching laboratories and technical staff in the Department of Pathology.
She/he will be responsible for, among others:-
  • Day-to-day administration of the Pathology laboratories and
  • Supervision of all practicals and demonstrations for the students.

In addition the applicant must have:
  • At least three (3) years relevant working experience preferably in a busy teaching or research laboratory.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware and softwares related to econometrics and Agribusiness such as microfit, n-logit, stata etc.
  • Good knowledge of statistics, agribusiness and associated data collection processes.
  • Advanced technical skills in database management
  • Good insight into agribusiness topics of relevance to the Kenya economy.

Administrative Assistant

Applicants must be holders of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field from a recognized university.
In addition the candidates must:
  • Have at least three (3) years relevant post qualification working experience in a busy organization preferably in an institution of higher learning.
  • Show proof of computer literacy.
The successful candidate will, among other duties, be responsible for:
  • Marketing the Open Learning Programme in the region
  • Using the University Management Systems to maintain and update websites and internal databases

Mortuary Superintendent

Applicants must be holders of KCE Division II or KCSE mean Grade C+ (Plus) and above. They must have a minimum of Higher National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology/ Medical Laboratory Sciences with a subspecialty in Histopathology.
In addition they must:-
  • Have at least 3 years of relevant work experience as a Mortician Morbid Anatomy Technician or Medical Laboratory Technician /Technologist in Histopathology or Human Anatomy.

Applicants must be Registered Clinical Officers. They must be holders of K.C.E Division II/K.C.S.E. Grade C+ and above.
They must have Diploma in Clinical Medicine from Medical Training College or any other recognized institutions offering equivalent training and must be registered by the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya.

Laboratory Technician
Grade E/F
Applicants must be holders of K.C.E Division II/K.C.S.E Grade C+ and above. They must have a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. They must have worked in a busy medical laboratory in a National/Provincial/Mission or Private Hospital or in a busy Government Health Centre for at
least three (3) years and must be registered with the Kenya Medical Technicians and Technologists Board. Certificates in cytology and computer operation will be added advantages.
Medical Records Clerk
Grade – III/IV
Applicants must have K.C.E Division IV/K.C.S.E Grade D+ and above.
They must have a certificate in Medical Records Management or equivalent from a recognized institution. They must have a certificate in computer operation and they must have worked in a busy Medical Records Registry in a National/Provincial/Mission or Private Hospital for at least three (3) years.
Possession of any other Clerical Certificate will be an added advantage.
Ambulance Attendant

Applicants must be holders of K.C.E Division IV/K.C.S.E Grade D+ and above. They must have First Aid Certificate and must have worked with a busy First Aid Organization or in a National/Provincial/Mission/Private hospital for at least three (3) years. Certificate in Disaster Management and a valid Driving License will be an added advantage.
Duties for the above posts in the Health Unit will involve working in a busy University Health Clinic during daytime, at night, weekends and public holidays.
Estates (Maintenance Department)
Project Manager

Applicants should be holders of a Master of Science degree in Construction Management or equivalent project management qualification from a recognized University. In addition, the applicant must have at least three (3) years experience in supervision of major construction projects.
Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in Building Economics, Construction Management or Architecture, and with at least five (5) years relevant work experience will also be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The University is currently undertaking major in-house construction projects and wishes to recruit a qualified, dynamic and self-motivated individual to supervise and coordinate the projects.
The successful candidate will be expected, among other duties to:
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the ongoing University construction projects.
  • Give up to date progress reports and necessary advise to the University Management.

The University wishes to recruit a qualified applicant to manage the University Fleet System. The applicants must have a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a recognized University.
In addition applicants must:
  • Have at least three (3) years relevant working experience in active programming in a large organization.
  • Be conversant with Visual Basic. NET, PHP, Java, among other programming languages
  • Be conversant with Mysql, Oracle. MS SQL Server among other Database Management Systems.
  • Be able to develop wed based programs
Those with additional programming certifications will have an added advantage.
Terms of Service:
Terms of service for teaching posts of lecturer and above include membership to a pension scheme, a generous medical scheme, housing allowance and commuting allowance.
