Hotel Controller and F&B Manager Jobs in Kenya

A progressive hotel in Nairobi requires passionate and well rounded hospitality professionals to join its management team in the following positions:

Hotel Controller

The Hotel Controller will be responsible for the provision of timely and accurate management and statutory accounting information to the hotel and all third parties.

The role encompasses the development, maintenance and operation of all accounting systems and management of the accounts team to deliver a high quality service.

You will also also take responsibility for cash management and statutory returns for the hotel.

You will oversee the running of the Finance department including overseeing the accounting functions, purchasing and stores of the hotel plus month end closing and reporting. The role also involves corporate reporting, annual budgets and quarterly forecasts as well as evaluating and improving operational systems and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • You will have a degree in commerce, accounting or Business Management and also hold a CPA (K) certification and at least 3 years experience at Chief Accountant or Asst Finance Controller level in a 3 or 4 star hotel.
  • You will have a good understanding of hotel operations and finances and also have proficiency in Accounting IT systems and Ms Office.
  • You will also have strong skills in leadership, communications, interpersonal relations, commitment to professional ethics and ability to work independently.
F&B Manager

The Food & Beverage Manager will be responsible for the smooth day to day running of the food and beverage operations along with his team. These include the Restaurants, Bars, Room Service and Banqueting & Conference functions.

You will build and maximize sales opportunities throughout the F&B outlets and co-ordinate the team activities, identify innovative ways of attracting new and existing business into the F&B outlets within the Hotel, train and develop the team to achieve excellence in service standards.

You will also monitor and optimize the profitability of all departments closely to achieve the budgeted profits.

Qualifications:

You will have a Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management with at least 5 years experience in a senior F&B position with diverse experience in F&B operations in a leading hotel. You will also have a passion for foods, wines and customer service with the ability to understand and leverage trends in F&B service.

You will also have strong skills in budgeting, sales, customer service, leadership, communication, staff management, excellent organization and hands-on-approach.
