Business Administrator – Production: Association for the Physically Disabled Persons of Kenya (APDK) Jobs in Kenya

The Association for the Physically Disabled Persons of Kenya (APDK) is a local NGO providing comprehensive rehabilitation services with the aim of empowering challenged persons.

The APDK Nairobi branch seeks to employ a self motivated
 Business Administrator- production to supervise and manager both the mobility and orthopaedic workshops situated in Nairobi.

This position will require the success candidate to actively maintain high production levels along with maintaining fruitful contacts with end-users of the mobility aids as the overall in charge.

The holder of this position will ensure efficiency in the running of the workshop in terms of quality control, production output, and maintenance of stock levels and the overall supervision of production staff.

Duties include but are not limited to:
 
  • To exercise overall responsibility over the



    overall production process, along with the day to day activities of the production and marketing departments.
  • Actively and successfully manage production, stock levels, invoicing and dispatch of goods as per the orders received.
  • Supervision of production and marketing staff to achieve set production targets.
  • To propose the production and Marketing annual budget in conjunction with the Project accountant and to gear the branch efforts towards achievement of the budget targets.
  • To develop Business relationships, generate and negotiate new income for APDK productions as per the agreed annual target for the income generating activities of APDK Nairobi branch.
  • Represent APDK at industry events and tradeshows to gain new business leads and contacts in the sales of mobility and orthopaedic aides.
  • Assist the marketing team in responding to renders and sales enquiries in a timely manner and follow up of the same in pursuit of new business.
  • Ability to work well in teams and for extended hours to meet production targets.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial economics or business administration with a bias in industrial production from a recognized institution.
  • Over 5 years management experience in industrial production and supervision of staff production staff in an industrial setting, experience in wheelchair or tricycle production will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in marketing, sales presentations and tendering.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and safety practices in an industrial set up.
  • Knowledge of Gemba kaizen or total quality management (TQM) would be an added advantage.
