Project Engineer

Reporting to:
 Engineering Manager

Position Purpose

Provide engineering project leadership for the factory through
designing and effective management of projects. Areas of focus will include capacity expansion projects, cost reduction initiatives and utilization improvement of equipment.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide Engineering support for the factory including capital projects, equipment improvement, capacity and facilities expansion.
  • Provision of process and packaging solutions including capital estimates, project management for new initiatives and capacity expansions.
  • Coordinate activities with the operations team, engineering consultants and equipment suppliers.
  • Drive engineering cost savings projects related to existing processes and systems.
  • Design and oversee engineering projects, update all engineering drawings.
  • Ensure projects are completed as per agreed timelines, within the scope of the approved specifications and budget provisions.
  • Implement latest technologies, promote innovation and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in development of operating instructions and repair of equipment, safe conducting of works with servicing of the means of Automation and mechanization and other technical documentation.
  • Participate in evaluating drafts, technical designs, drawings, installation process, and commissioning of newly installed equipment
The Person
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university
  • Registered Engineer by Kenya Engineers Board.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a Manufacturing Company with good understanding of process and packaging engineering principles and practices
  • Proven expert and posses in depth experience in troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Solid analytical skills, detail oriented and knowledgeable in production processes, quality standards and safety policies.
  • Experience in leading projects and teams to gather requirements, identify the scope, design and implement solutions on time within budget.
  • Set challenging goals, track progress and solve performance problems, demonstrate urgency and achieve them.
  • Ability to manage vendors to successfully meet business objectives by building relationship, communications, contract management and quality control skills.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Project, Excel and AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of ISO systems and TPM.
Electronics/Statistics Engineer

Reporting to:
 Engineering Manager

Position Purpose:

Effectively maintain Electronic equipment and other electrical systems in the factory and identify significant variances in operating processes; make recommendations to maximize efficiencies to effectively reduce overall costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • PLC automation and instrumentation of Siemens S7, Alen Bradley (Logix 500)
  • Installation of Industrial power Systems, including cable layouts, motor sizing and installations, starting methods etc.
  • Analyse information and produce reports to provide management information that will enable effective business decisions.
The Person
  • Holder of Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronics or Mechatronics
  • 3 years relevant experience
  • HND in Electronics with Vast hands on experience in PLCs and Industrial softwares (with 4 yrs experience)
  • Proven analytical and data presentation skills.
  • Ability to design/model a Database.
  • knowledge in Low Cost Automations ( LCA’s) with ability to improve ergonomically and energy use challenges in a factory or an industrial set up
  • Proficient knowledge and working skills in Microsoft Excel, MS Access and Power point
Human Resources Advisor

Reporting to:
 Human Resources Manager

Position Purpose

As a key member of the Human Resources department, the HR Advisor will help build an integrated learning organisation, by providing organisational development solutions in support of building a high performance team and drive engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and understand business partners’ needs and provide solutions to improve employee performance.
  • Manage the selection process using best practises to hire a talented workforce.
  • Partner with business partners in carrying out the Talent Management process that addresses succession planning, superior workforce development, key retention strategies and organisational design.
  • Administer programs that will maximise effective performance measurement programs, coaching and counselling techniques and performance feedback and management, including change readiness.
  • Maintains an awareness of key advances in knowledge management, training and management development approaches, tools and techniques and ensures that best practise is implemented.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of the Training and Education Pillar strategies in support of TPM initiatives.
  • Provide leadership for engagement programs and teams.
The Person
  • Holder of a Bachelors Degree and a professional qualification in Human Resources Development.
  • At least three years experience in a manufacturing company with a strong record of success gained in an HR generalist role.
  • Computer literate

  • Essential functional skills and knowledge including talent management, succession planning, TNA, consulting and coaching
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

Human Resources Generalist

Reporting to:
 Human Resources Manager

Position Purpose

To act as proactive business partners who gain understanding of customer needs and goals by providing effective human resources support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effective Employee Relations: Ensure that delivery is aligned to the business and legislative requirements to promote and maintain a work environment where sound people relations and strong employee trust and effective communication exists.
  • Rewards: Ensure effective delivery of compensation & benefit plans and programs, ensuring that the company maintains a competitive position consistent with the agreed market position.
  • Learning & Development: Support the HR Advisor in analysing performance deficiencies and define learning solutions for optimum employee performance, be an active member of the TE Pillar, conduct effective on boarding and integration programmes.
  • HR Administration: Maintenance of HR data systems, with a preference to SAP HR and monitor HR Metrics, provide relevant management reports and conduct HR audits to ensure appropriate implementation of HR policies and employment laws.
