Medecins Sans Frontieres - Belgium is looking for a Mission Pharmacist

Based in Nairobi, on a fixed term contract, extendable

The selected candidate will be reporting to the Medical Coordinator and s/he will be responsible of all areas/ aspects related to management of the Kenya Mission pharmacy.

Main tasks include, but not limited to:
  • Management of drug orders for the mission/ project(s) (reception, preparing, stocking, packaging, delivery)
  1. Ensure availability and/or refill of the medical drugs and/ or medical/ lab supplies & equipments as per the system/ requirement in place
  2. Inventory management of medical drugs and/ or medical/ lab supplies and equipments
  • Updating, implementing and safe guarding of MSF-Belgium pharmacy protocols and guidelines
  • Technical support, training and supervision to the



    pharmacies/ pharmacy attendants in the project(s)
  • Management of the pharmacy stock and database
  • Pharmacy related data analysis and reporting
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 0800hrs to 1700hrs with a one hour lunch break. (Can be called upon to work on Saturdays).

Requirements:
  • Registered pharmacist with a degree in pharmacy
  • At least one year experience in similar field. Experience in HIV/AIDS projects is an advantage
  • Computer literate - working knowledge of MS-Excel and MS-Word are mandatory
  • Good communication skills in both English and Swahili
  • Strong technical, management and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility, motivated, autonomous, proactive, patient, discreet, open minded
  • Strong sense of confidentiality, team spirit and dynamism
