Kenya Meat Commission, a state Corporation established by an Act of parliament whose vision is to be the preferred world class meat and meat products processor seeks to recruit suitable persons for the following positions:

 Supply Chain Manager

The successful candidate's overall responsibility will be managing supplies, purchasing and disposal processes reporting to the Managing Commissioner.

Key Job Profile
  • Managing the tendering and quotation process as well as contract management,
  • Participating in developing and reviewing procurement policies and procedures
  • Identifying potential cost saving areas through competitive tendering and negotiations
  • Ensuring suppliers meet prequalification and comply with public procurement procedures.
  • Leading, training and managing the supplies team towards delivering the required supplies.
  • Managing the transaction approval processes and



    requisitions
  • Reviewing requirement for materials especially for packaging
  • Advising and performing secretarial duties to the tender committee
  • Carrying out planning and projection of procurement needs of the Commission
  • Coordinating procurement operations Developing and preparation of tender document
  • Analyzing market and deliver conditions to determine competitiveness of bids and quotations
  • Preparing notices for advertising of tenders
Key Person Profile
  • Bachelors degree in purchasing and supplies management, commerce, economics, business administration or equivalent from a recognized university
  • Professional Diploma in purchasing and supplies management obtained from CIPS, ISM or equivalent.
  • Five years experience in a similar position in a comparable organization and should have working knowledge and understanding of public procurement and disposal procedure
  • Be result driven with excellent analytical skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management
  • Be in possession of certificate of good conduct (2010) obtained form CID
Job Title: Senior Accountant (Costing)

The successful candidate will manage periodic accounts, budgets and projections as well as product costing, pricing and profitability. S/He will report to the Finance and Administration Manager

Key Job Profile
  • Actively participate in month/semester/year-end dosing and reporting
  • Track accuracy of cost allocation (cost accounting)
  • Issue monthly performance indicators of Commission's various activities
  • Follow, track and analyze gap between standard and actual costs derived from production and gaps with the Budget
  • Follow and analyze the Commission's industrial performance (scrap, productivity)
  • Determine margins per product / customer and play an active role in improving margins/profitability
  • Calculate and maintain cost prices
  • Implement indicators and corresponding action plans
  • Follow inventory levels and evaluate corresponding risks
  • Analyze annual budget in collaboration with each designated party as defined in the annual report.
  • Implementation of sales cost accounting
  • Assist Commission's Finance and Administration Manager in various analytical tasks
Key Person Profile
  • Bachelors degree in Commerce (Accounting) or a related field
  • Be a certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and registered with Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK)
  • Be result driven with excellent analytical skills
  • Four years experience in a comparable organization
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Be in possession of certificate of good conduct (2010) obtained form CID
Senior Personal Secretary

The successful candidate will ensure the day-to-day administration of the Managing Commissioner's office. S/He will report to the Managing Commissioner

Key Job Profile
  • Ensure the Managing Commissioner's diary is properly managed
  • Manage the senior Management files in a private and confidential manner
  • Arrange for Managing Commissioner's meetings
  • Organize the travel arrangements for the MC as well as other Board members
  • Recording dictation in shorthand and transcribing it in type e written form
  • Process data and manage e-office
  • Ensure security of office records, documents and equipment including classified materials
  • Manage the office protocol
  • Handle telephone calls and appointments
  • Attend to visitors/Clients
  • Preparing responses to simple routine correspondence
  • Training and induction of secretarial staff
Key Person Profile
  • Bachelors degree in secretarial studies or of Business and Office Management
  • Served all the level of personal secretary for a minimum period of three (3) years in a busy and comparable organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Time Management skills
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills
  • Be in possession of certificate of good conduct (2010) obtained form CID
  • Type writing III (Minimum 100 words per minute)
