Salary Range: Ksh3,000,000 – Ksh4,188,000 gross per annum

Oxfam GB in the Horn, East and Central Africa region (HECA) works in 10 countries across Africa with its regional center based in Nairobi.

We work in difficult contexts with humanitarian, development and campaigns programmes.

We are looking for the right person to manage and drive the regional We Can End all Violence against Women (We Can) Campaign, including strategy development for the campaign, facilitating programmes of alliance members, proactively developing relations with potential donors, and supporting fundraising for programmes and activities.

The Role

The role will develop and implement suitable strategies to drive the We Can Campaign beyond its current pilot phase, as well as facilitate support and coordination to the We Can Alliance of active civil society partners in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

Gender mainstreaming is at the heart of Oxfam’s programmes in the region.

You will proactively liaise with other Oxfam affiliates and external donors, including approaching established and potential donors, for funding support to the We
Can Campaign.

The Person

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced candidate with strong background in campaigning and advocacy – including significant experience of working with alliances for change within the African context.

You will have a good understanding of gender-based violence programmes and campaigns; with a track record of delivery on complex campaigning projects,
including ability to identify and implement opportunities for innovation; and experience of fundraising in the not-for-profit/NGO sector.

You will have significant experience in coordinating campaigns and facilitating civil society alliances or coalitions in a complex and dynamic environment.

You will have good project management skills with excellent analytical and planning skills.

You will be a diplomat, possing impressive written and verbal communication skills to motivate, influence and negotiate both internally and externally.

You will have the ability to travel at times for extended periods and at short notice.

You will have a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Political Science, Economics or other related discipline. A Masters degree in any of the above disciplines will be an added advantage. Experience in project management and people skills are critical for success in this role.
