OVC Coordinator: Academy for Educational Development (AED) Jobs in Kenya

_____________________________________________________________________________________ The Academy for Educational Development (AED), an international not-for-profit organization, working in education and training, health and nutrition, democracy and governance, and economic development seeks to recruit for an OVC Coordinator to work with orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC).AED supports families and communities in Kenya to improve the health, nutrition, and psychosocial care of young children orphaned and affected by HIV/AIDS, to improve the long-term health of their caregivers, and to increase food security in their households.AED has current funding from the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) and from USAID to work with community based organizations (CBOs) serving as key partners in the delivery of services and anticipates further work in this endeavor.

Responsibilities:

An OVC Coordinator will be responsible for

· leading geographic targets and CBO monitoring;
· supervising all staff activity;
· overseeing and troubleshooting
· procurements, logistics, financial reporting, impact and activity reporting; and
· communication with donors, collaborating organizations, AED HQ staff and other funders as needed.

Qualifications Required:

· Bachelors degree (Master’s preferred) in one of the following or related fields: Project Management, International Development, or Public Health.
· Five years in HIV/AIDS care and support programming, working with development agency coalitions, and community development work.
· Experience with Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) programming and knowledge of Kenya donors and implementing agencies a plus.
· Kenyan residents preferred.

Required Skills:

· Strong management and leadership ability; excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; thorough and detail-oriented; able to communicate effectively via phone, email, and written reports.
