Human Resources Officer: CARE International in Kenya

CARE International in Kenya is looking for a dynamic, well organized and highly motivated individual who is results-oriented to fill the position of
Human Resources Officer to be based in Nairobi.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the HR Coordinator the HR Officer will assist in the implementation of the HR policies and procedures, manage employee relations,
recruitment and selection, processing appointment letters, promotions and facilitate personnel actions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration and implementation of HR strategies and policies, adapts processes and procedures focusing on achievement of the required results.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, and induction processes of new staff.
  • Coordinate and liase with Sub Offices in Contract management. and employee relations.
  • Facilitate performance appraisal process and maintenance of the related data.
  • Payroll processing; Advise/provide information on payroll action in coordination with all Sub Offices.
  • Participate in review of current remunerations and benefits structure, as well as salary surveys to ensure staff are well compensated and the organization is competitively placed in the job market.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in, social sciences, business administration or any other related field, with at least a post graduate diploma in human resource management from a reputable institution.
  • A minimum of four years experience in providing high level HR services in a busy environment preferably an International NGO
  • Good working knowledge of current Kenyan employment law
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
  • Excellent planning, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good people skills are a must. and must be a team player
  • Good communication and facilitation skills
  • Must be a self-motivated and reliable person who can work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with people
  • Computer literate
